I'm no expert in the Sparse Grid SuperSampling AA method Flex, but according to spinelli who wrote this: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...-Is-It-Just-Me?p=254714&viewfull=1#post254714 which is derived from http://naturalviolence.webs.com/sgssaa.htm, you need to use standard MSAA with SGSSAA option and in equal value. e.g. 2xMSAA with 2xSGSSAA - i have tried this with 4xMSAA with 2xSGSSAA and it results in artifacts on the wire-meshing so in my own experience i can confirm this but i haven't tried using non MSAA with SGSSAA so i cannot speak for it.

That's why I just said "try" because we are still at the stage X or identical configurations can give many different results, it is doing as you can ...

Well, the problems with using CSAA + SGSSAA is a mathematical issue independent of the game or hardware in question, so it's not going to change.

What I know is that it works perfectly with my hardware.

I used to use 2xMSAA with 2xSGSSAA but i've reverted back to using nothing but the default with ingame AA level 4 like Tim. To me it offers the best compromise of performance and graphical aesthetics. If you can get away with 4xMSAA/SGSSAA then go with that as it does look best of all with all edges being very crisp and well defined but at a signicant cost. It really depends on what you've allocated your graphical horsepower too ingame and what horsepower is left to be allocated to SGSSAA (if any).

    Here are my ingame settings:

(ignore that it says i have a 4GB gtx 770....i have no idea why it says so)

Have to compared with MSAA? Screenshots in the same location with both to see if there are artifacts with CSAA that you would not ordinarily notice without a comparison? I did not until i took screenshots comparing 2xMSAA vs 4xMSAA with the same 2xSGSSAA option.

I'm not sure I understand your question ... but what is certain is that for two years each update I performed the same test procedure as follows:
-Setting antialising the launcher, 4X = not pretty but many fps (180/200) which are useless as always micro stutters.
-Setting via NVI 4XMSAA+4XSGSAA= much less jaggies and that tounent fps around 100 ... always microstutters
-Setting via NVI 8XCSAA+4XSGSAA = perfect results, always around 100 fps,no artifacts ... and still micro stutters ...

ages ago I was getting stutters etc, found the problem was with the sync, whether on gpu or video it would stutter, so ive had it on none, no problem since.

jomardi, just for additional info (don't know if you've tried that too already), did you try pressing "Alt+M" while driving on track? This further enhances quality for me and most other users. I have a GTX770 as well and this is the only way I can effectively increase the visual quality. Most Aliasing/Flickering disappears with that.

    See here.

Currently this is not the topic, but without vSync quality is not smoothing. also FPS goes much much higher for this reason, GPU temps also goes too much UP.
    THX.
