I've got an issue with mirrors on some cars. Sometimes they work fine. Sometimes they are way too bright. Sometimes, they are way too dark. I've set them up the way it says in the ISI car doc(which also has an image with this problem). Is it fixable? Maybe an HDR issue?

Try using the shader No Lighting Tex 1.

I have the same problem. I tried with simple t1 shader, and after with no lighting tex1 but no difference, I think it's a bug.

Didn't seem to fix it. It doesn't happen on all tracks, so maybe something with the track is messing it up.

Do you have Add Z Buffer checked. Mirrors work perfect for me any track any car I've done.

I just had the same problem. My mirrors looked as if you would look directly into the sun.
After i played around a while with the material-properties, i ended with a working and good looking mirror by using these settings for some colors:

    Ambient:
    Red: 5 green: 5 blue: 5

And Diffuse, Emissive and Specular all completely black 0/0/0

make sure the material name is 'mirror', I have seen 'mirrors' used as a material name and this was on mirrors exhibiting your issue

I have to correct this posting from me.
After i've tested the car outside the DevMode in the normal game, the mirror was almost black.
So i had to change the settings again into

    Ambient, Diffuse and Emissive:
    completely white 255/255/255

    and Specular completely black 0/0/0

That seems OK (so far :D)
I think my DevMode folder is messed up, because i always just installed newer versions over the existing one.
I will make a fresh install now.

Mine seemed to fix itself. Maybe the new builds with HDR automation fixed it. Who knows.
