Simautosport.com World Endurance Challenge - Season Dates Announced -RegistrationOpen

After many months of planning, hours of development and testing we are happy to announce the dates and times for Season 1 of the Simautosport World Endurance Challenge, where drivers and teams will battle for 4 hours of some of the worlds greatest circuits in the rFactor 2 racing simulator.

Season 1 will take place over 5 rounds, with each round lasting 4 hours in length starting from a rolling start we will see driver swaps, pit stops, tire management and no doubt close battling all fighting for positions.

We have taken the standard United Racing Design EGT mod and further customized it to provide a fair racing choice of cars which include the Bayro E5 (BMW Z4 GTE), Darche EGT (Porsche 991), Venom (SRT Viper), Arthur Merlin (Aston Martin Vantage GTE) and the Corvette C6R ZR1, based on 2014 specifications. Note: URD EGT Mod purchase required before we provide our customized mod.

Event Timetable:
Round 1: 4 Hours of Sebring - 22nd June 2014
Round 2: 4 Hours of Mid-Ohio w/chicane - 13th July 2014
Round 3: 4 Hours of Bahrain - 3rd August 2014
Round 4: 4 Hours of Silverstone- 31st August 2014
Round 5: 4 Hours of Le Mans - 21st September 2014

We have a custom skin deadline for the 25th May so that we can complete the mod ready for the first race.

 

sounds good i got the mod allready but i need to know on which days it will be to plan my upcoming races. greetings jay

There is no fixed day yet, although i'm most likely to go with Sat Evenings due to the race duration's. We will be having further discussions on the forum about that as we finalize all the details.

If you race in Sundays, I'll join a team and bring some friends. This sounds great.

 

I will be putting up a poll very shortly on our forums to get everyone's feedback on when they are not available so we can try to attract the largest grid possible.

 

I'm interested if it's every other Sunday and race starts no later than 19 GMT.

Hi, I have entered a team with one driver, if anyone wants to run with me send an MP in the simautosport forum.

Rob, we just had a race at Sebring, but I didn`t see 2 of 7 racers and the same happened at the next track also.

 

2 probs right now- the URD mod is a WIP with no cockpits so a lot of drivers are unsure if they want to commit to driving a car they may not like for this series. Also, we still don't know a day or time. I'm holding off on registering at the forum or finding a team until at least the day the races will be held on is established.

If I can make the races, I would like to join someone's team and join these races though, so please keep us up-to-date on what's going on and let us know as soon as days/times are established.

 

Very odd, not sure what would or could cause that.



Regarding the mod, Ales has already said that the remaining cockpits should arrive next update this week hopefully. Once those are released we will conclude final testing of all the cars to make sure there is no obvious problems and then will commit to a schedule.

With regards to Time of date and day, the votes finished last night and the results was:

Race Day: Sunday
Race Time: 2PM GMT

Race Length: 4 Hours

Race Regularity: Every 3 Weeks

We will shortly be commencing some final testing evenings of which will be published to tick all boxes and then we will announce the season dates. The addition of the live timing system has sped up some of the testing we had to do so not alot left to make sure is ok now.

I'd love to participate but I'd definitely need a teammate/mentor with skill and patience to teach me a lot of (even basic) stuff. I love to drive, but not as fast as most guys in leagues
