There is to much socialization in these forums. I wish people would be robots.

It's like they love freedom or something.

I haven't been on a big grid yet. On the 26th I will be in an online race we should have 15+ drivers, let you know then. If I find a pubby with a lot of drivers I'll post too.

Off topic is where the arguments happen. You can't expect people with a common interest to not socialize at times. Geez, some people need to lighten up a little. :)

I just want an off topic forum so I jumped it.

But you're right, I do need to lighten up, my previous post was uncalled for :p

i love the IDEA of freedom but cannot say that I love freedom until i experience it. RELATIVE freedom, perhaps, but until my property taxes go away and i have privacy i cannot tell you whether i love it :p

I was on Longbeach 0.95 just now with 22 AI and I got some 1+ sec pauses and also it ran out of realtime twice in practice. I should check this with an ISI mod (you know which mod I was using), but this is a new yet very old problem. I haven't seen that happen in a long time- since probably last spring.

Sunday we'll be at Mid-O (tried and trusted track) and I'll send a report your way.

The server dropped from realtime, or the client? Assuming you mean client in thsis example, as you mention AI.

Have you tried changing the collision model to the 342 one just on the server?

Have you been able to monitor your system to see which programs are using CPU/RAM? Is any other program than rF2 using? The only time I've heard of realtime dropouts are plugins or drivers (like those old wheels needing the skip updates edit to stop their drivers overloading the system). Or, of course, too high settings causing the sim to drop. But if that wasn't happening with 342 to you, it probably shouldn't with 382. I certainly would try the old collision model though.

makes for lame online sessions...some people have done it others havnt...no mismatches etc etc

I have a lot of freezing moments in the last 2 weeks! it happens offline and online. yesterday I had an online race and it was nearly impossible to race with this freezing issues! it happens when some one enter the server or exits from it!

The AI I assume he is talking about are not generated client side.

I was racing offline against 21 AI, in a practice session. BES is very resource hungry- 9 manufacturers, 11 models. I'm not sure how hungry iDT Long Beach 0.95 is. AI were not trained (if that matters or helps) and some were on track and having a hard time around the fountain. Now that I think of it that may be it. There was one Ai stuck on the fountain spinning his tires and there were a lot of crashes in the tight section before it with cars crashing into each other almost every lap.

Plugins I already stripped the game down. iirc all I have left is real head motion and motec. All I had in the background was Teamspeak and Steam, though those are in background most of the time.

as a last resort I'll try changing the collision model but now that I think about the cars piling up in the first sector that makes me think that's it.
