News item: http://rfactor.net/web/2013/11/06/rogue-system-finds-publishing-partner-in-isi/ Image Space Incorporated are pleased to announce that we will serve as publisher for Rogue System, a space sim with the blended detail and fidelity of hardcore combat flight-sims, satisfying both the casual gamer and the hardcore “simmer.” Rogue System’s Core Module (CM) will be a complete campaign-driven sim on its own. It utilizes both dynamic as well as scripted missions to allow for greater replayability while telling an intriguing story. Finally, Rogue System is fully moddable, allowing both Digits Crossed Interactive (our development partner) as well as the sim’s community to add new ships, missions, and even campaigns. Later, Extension Modules (EM) will add even more gameplay. The first EM will be the addition of open-ended trading and exploring. Other modules will include enhanced FPS gameplay with breaching actions, multi-player, and the ability for multi-crewed captial ship command. Check out the overview on the official Web site for more information. Official announcement:
Congrats both of you! I've been following RogSys since the SimHQ article and Michael's work since his close combat days (technically). I was disappointed when the kickstarter didn't make it and happy when he said he'd pretty much found some backing but for it to be ISI is just awesome! Can't wait for 2015
Yeah, sorry. Michael is my first name. I used that during the Kickstarter because I wanted to maintain some separation between ISI and myself. Most people who have been keeping an eye on RogSys know me by that, and I don't want to confuse them now Thanks
And I believe the reason for "Scott" is because we have Mike, Michael and would have had another Michael if he wasn't Scott. I know his first name, and still call him Scott. We're weird like that.
Rogue System looks like one of these sims which could ruin my live lol. I haven't noticed Rogue System till the RAVSIM article. I was to late for the kickstarter, sadly. But turns out it get's just better, grats!
I was just saying to myself "Wasn't there a space game being developed by somebody over here?". I haven't looked this way since last summer. I had prepared myself for an hour of google searching and decided to just check here real quick. Lo and behold first click, first post and here it is.
Cool, finally something where nobody can complain against the reality edit: deleted thread unrelated stuff.
He's quite well aware of it, and unlike those who build large glass canopies for their cockpits, he won't be. You'll have a method of coping with the pressure of space to crush a canopy. He intends to have video screens on the inside, showing the outside, and those screens can be individually damaged, causing blind spots. It's really quite amazing what he's thought of that the Roberts and Braben guys didn't see fit to. If you watch that video, you can see triangular shapes on the cockpit during the early combat. 4:30s you see the screens turning off. 5Mins you see the front screen damaged as a whole. Individual triangles can be knocked out. Glass would have to be too thick with the pressure to remain useful.
