It's done (although we'd need to refine some things when we get further data, and possibly new sounds in a future update to it). We've been waiting on approval to release from Honda.

It's just waiting for approval I think.

Tim, should we politely ask the Honda Yuasa team on Twitter/Facebook what the status is to give them a little poke? :)

It's not them. :) They approved the livery a few weeks back, waiting on worldwide approvals.

How does approvals work? I'm just interested in the process. is it by region or country etc..? who are these people, what do they do?

I will probably wet myself when it comes out.

    cheers,
    Phil

This one was a little different to usual. Usually you license from someone who can give approvals direct, so you build it, send them screens, video, whatever they want to see, and they have a certain number of days to say no (which means they ask for a change, not "no"). They'll approve and you can release.

Honda has both regional and worldwide approval processes, which means the person you talk to in the UK, USA, has to then ask Japan about worldwide release. My contact with Yuasa was primarily for technical data, and marketing once we are able to release.

Most of the time there's no approvals process at all, they don't really seem too bothered. This is the first one where we've been held up at all, anyway.

Do you get any requesting to test drive their car before giving approval? We know Luciano Bacheta tested the F2, but was that at their request for testing or yours?

Yeah, sometimes. That was their request, but if we could, we'd always do that. Depends on the car, team and manufacturer. For example we did not get data from Honda, we got it from Yuasa, specifically Matt Neal, who has been massively helpful and hyped about this happening.

As soon as the idea came to add Pirtek liveries, it was Matt who asked them. Other manufacturers I am hoping once the Honda is launched I can use that as leverage.

    Awesome :D

If racing teams understand what ISI is doing it's a no brainer to get involved!
