HDR is a fickle beast. I tried for hours to get a profile together that didn't ruin the sky. It doesn't seem possible with the options we have to play with.
Here you go http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...-F1-1992-Work-in-Progress?p=291053#post291053 its a demo/beta at the moment but still very good already, will be a great mod the way its going.
Yes, in this photo the sky looks very similar, the problem is that this is practically the greatest shade of blue you see in the game. In real life the sky is visible from almost white to a very intense electric blue, but generally tends to be of a similar tone between these pictures. The sky occupies a large part of the screen and it's important to look as realistic as possible.
Camera's at real life race tracks aren't your eyes.. So you can't trust any photo or video posted and being viewed on your monitor of anything for comparison. The goal is to touch real life, not camera lens and monitor limitation.
Good vid, thanks One question: There seemed to be a quite dry line at the end of race, although there still a lot of spray at some parts of the track. Now if it was dry and most (if not all) of you guys still on wet tires did you feel them coming off quickly and/or a loss of grip?

A couple of factors, if I may. 1) The final corner was largely wet for about 35 minutes of the race. I blame the many lines that can be used there. In fact, someone switched to slicks early and understeered right in to the wall at the final corner because it was so wet. 2) The dry line was one car-width wide. The early leader, Garry Craig, switched to slicks at the mid-point of the race when there was a dry line most of the way around the circuit. He commented they felt they had more grip though his lap times were still comparable to mine, with me still on wets. He continued that he was having to be very precise with his driving to ensure he stayed on the dry line, otherwise there was no grip. He understeered on to the grass at one point because of this. As for me on wets, I feel I saw higher levels of wear compared to a fully wet race at Mid Ohio, earlier in the season. I didn't feel any particular extreme loss of grip, though they seemed to heat more if I scrubbed them in a bit of a slide. This could just be my perception as I was in full tyre and fuel saving mode. Slicks were faster at the end, as shown at the end of the video with Garry unlapping himself from the leader, though I still had the fastest lap of the race on wets. Read in to that what you will. I feel wet tyres need to heat up more on a dry/drying line (I think that behaviour is true to life?) so as to force a change or you to run a long the wet parts of the circuit to keep them cool. I think this is incoming at some point? Sorry for the very long reply... .lol
THANKS FOR THE LONG REPLY, very appreciated Rich From what I saw on your video (haven't done a wet race yet) I too felt that wet-tires should heat up more and force drivers to change or go to wet parts for cooling. Think Tim said that (wet-)weather is still incomplete so I think we will get there. Good to hear people were able to switch to slicks and be competitive. One reason I like your video in particular is because it shows a lot of rf2's strengths. RealRoad, dynamic weather, forcing people to different strategies, full control in pit-lane and a good netcode which allows close racing.
