Yeh it is, that`s kind of why I asked for confirmation it was Tim, to put the voice with the name... Hint of a Yorkshire(ish) accent there too I think... Accents are another thing that really interest me.
Mine, though it was at a whisper, sort of, as my microphone buzzes whenever I get loud and no matter how low I put the capture level, it always seems to do it on peaks.
Yea, there's still a fair bit of Yorkshire/Lancashire there Tim; so you haven't picked up a Stateside twang to your accent then
Most of that comes from my dad, who is a country bumpkin. Word usage is quite different for me now, I've been conversing with mostly Americans since 2005 and automatically say hood for bonnet, etc, etc. I grew up with a stammer in my speech, so I often say things in a roundabout way to avoid a particular word my brain has told me I am going to stammer on. But have found a lot of the American pronunciations don't give me a problem, so I have switched to using them. Americans say "I" for I, rather than "ee" for I. I find it easier to use the I. Typical example of the sound would be how they say Iraq as I-rack, not ee-rack. If that makes sense. And it's the same with a lot of accent sounds. Sometimes you might hear me switch American to English one word to the next, and the stammer avoidance would be the reason.
Yeah lol hearing you're voice .....what a nice surprise. I like the forehead cam view but that's also giving me some questions. I saw no stutter or other disturbing things and you where using for the first time iirc 3 screens. Now knowing you have a gtx770 my question is what are your settings for this and do you use multiview because in an other thread i read a lot of fps probs and so on. This reading is holding me back from mounting 3 screens but after seeing this........hmmmm So could you say something about your settings using 3 screens and what fps did you have for example in this particular race. Would be nice to hear
Zotac 770 GTX with 4GB RAM, yes. I'm using 100% default settings on the video card and outside the sim. I use max settings in the sim on everything (FPS did drop a few times here and there in traffic, hardly noticably). Zero ini editing, etc. Really wasn't hard or complex in any way, it just worked. I had it working fine with softTH in the past as well, on max detail, etc, but my screens were different sizes at that point. The only issue I have with triple screens, is the bezel compensation not being there. I moved the two outer screens slightly behind the middle one until they matched up visually. But that'll be there eventually. For now it's pretty easy for me to slide the side screens in for a race. I'm planning on buying a mount that the screens can be moved next. That should raise them up to eye level as well.
thanks for your reply.....think my sons will have to do without their screens for a day or 2 bcause dad is testing......
Interesting Tim as I may be going down the triples route myself soon(ish) You`d better update your specs (under avatar) now that your on triples. Btw, I now read all your posts in your voice and accent
question for Tim. I feel the rF2 road bump and drops/bounce far more realistic than rF1. Even my Spectrum analysis of SimVibe seems suggest that, see video below and the description in the that video. Now, question would be why? Is due to the new tyre model or improvement of suspension due to updates of physics eng or actually road surface is more realistic? thanks,
Tim maybe I missed something but is there a specific reason why you do not use the integrated nvidia bezel compensation ? alex
