Wow, any way you can release a native 2560x1440 downscaled to 1920x1080 version of that? Or even just a native 1920x1080? Would love it for a wallpaper.

Would be awesome if you could move the cam back just a tiny bit until you got the full width of both front tyres in the shot....Not that I'm trying to tell you how to take your screenshots or anything :)

This is why replays need DOF. Looks great!

As long as ISI make sure it can be disabled.

I enabled DOF in iRacing the other day. As I was using some trackside/TV/spectator cams, literally every single car on the track was blurry except the one specific car/area the game was focused on. It was as if the game was trying to simulate a blind person who could only see a specific object/depth, while being almost completely blind to every other part of the world.

I guess DOF adds some gimmicky 3D depth to the scene/image for all the people not playing their games in 3D (especially NVIDIA 3D Vision). You don't need DOF to get a sense of depth if you play your game in 3D, the 3D naturally does this as you choose how close or far to look just like in real life.

A hotkey to disable/enable it would be awesome, that way you could instantly enable/disable it depending on the camera and what "look" you're trying to go for, and how you want your "vision" to be simulated.

It killed my fps in iRacing more than any other setting including AA. I never knew DOF was THAT much of a resource hog.

It does look beautiful though, and has many pros vs not using it, but being able to disable it depending on what camera you are using and what "look" you are trying to simulate is extremely important, or else it has the potential to be nothing but a blinding (literally) nuisance.

Dof is there to simulate a high quality lens, and to take pictures and videos that look like in real photography or videography with an expensive 1.2-2.8 lens. It has nothing to do with blindness. It's natural and normal. That being said, very hard to simulate that in a game, still for taking photos it should be there, otherwise the pics would look unreal

Yeah I and others understand it. Just people are saying when the camera is at the track on behalf of your eye when you are driving there is no need for it. Screenshots I agree and it would be nice to have in rF2 and be able to manipulate it the way you can with a camera, with more work it can all be done in PS etc. I'm sure we'd have endless screenshots in this thread if it was easier to do. Anyway i'm going to delete my previous posts since they're just clogging up this thread :)

DOF should not be in-car in my opinion... In-car is the only spot where rF2 looks close to competiters... or actually alongside even... But once you're out of the car, specially trackside cameras it's pretty underwhelming to look at :) And the ability to disable DOF is of course necessary, just like HDR can be switched on/off.

Of course there is no need for DOF in driving cams. It's all about the trackside cams.

Yea, can't put it here as it's not mine and probably would be frowned upon.

The pic was just too good though, I just couldn't resist. Sorry!

Not sure about that mate, they look like Micro Machines or they are Scalextric. The dodgy/fake DOF effect really is making it look funny, the scale is out. The first pic looks like you smeared some Vaseline over it aswell.

Do you talk like that to people in real life?

U stop to consider your tone?
