Some pics from the RaceDepartment club event at Indy 2013.

 

Not directed just at you, but: welcome to the internet. If you don't want someone to take a picture you put somewhere, make it completely private or don't put it up. Putting images in a screenshots thread would seem to imply you're happy for people to see them, and from there you should pretty much assume at least some people will take a copy. Business pages? Blogs? Chances are they wouldn't even want a full res version for that... so attempting to 'protect' the original won't make much difference.

Anyway, why are people so protective of their 'photos' - it's not like you physically traveled to a track with your own purchased camera equipment and actually took a photo, and are looking to sell it - you're running the same software as the rest of us, and you took a screenshot. It's not even edited. I don't get it. (would you be able to sell it? Or would that be infringing on copyright regarding ISI and the licensor in the case of real life content?)

If your response to all this is, "well, maybe I won't post them then," well... yeah... maybe that's the best idea.

Question for Nuno - or anyone really: is that Zandvoort available for ordinary punters like me? I've looked about the place but can't find it, so I'm thinking it's a private conversion for now?

You probably shouldn't be quoting me, seeing as I do go to tracks with my own equipment and take photos looking to sell them.

To me property is still property, whether it's virtual or not. I don't see the difference between someone taking an image from my website or from a forum/facebook where I've shared it. I can understand why for some there's a difference, but I'd still be disheartened if say, I posted an image of the URD mod on here after paying for it, and they used it for promo material, or someone claimed it as their own.

And you're right - the internet will do as the internet does. But I don't like to post large watermarks on my images. And when people post them away from their original source it makes it harder to track down the creator. And when the internet and relevant buzz accounts for the majority of my work, it's important to try as much as possible to keep images from going astray.

 

That zandvoort was a quick convertion that tookme about 1 hour just to test few things... I'm implementing real road and then we can talk thru PM if anyone is interested to try it . this one won't have any update like I'm doing with Brno. Its what it is and at least for me its better than 90% of tracks being converted..... People still don't get that we don't need to put crappy mods in rF2. this deserves more quality...

Just 1 hour and 30 minutes to go in the Virtual Endurance Championship's Le Mans 24 Hours. It's been a fantastic experience. rFactor 2 has well and truly proved itself over the last 22 hours and 30 minutes. Thank you ISI.
