Hi everyone, We have released a new track for rFactor 2. It includes two layouts of 1.2 and 1.97 miles situated on the basin of a Scottish valley. It was originally one of our track artists rFactor 1 tracks that he wanted to bring to rFactor 2 (with some changes, of course). It's a very challenging track, super fun to drive. Check the profile link for more information. 'Intro video' for the track (including laps of the long and short layouts linked at the end of it) here: http://youtu.be/bAvKh1aRPqo An extensive profile (including track guide) here: http://bit.ly/15FmVUU 19 screenshots: http://bit.ly/16y9W3i File size: 306MB Main download link: http://rfactor.net/web/getfile/loch-drummond/ Mirrors link: http://rfactor.net/web/getfile/loch-drummond-mirrors/ Let me know if you think the track profile covers the track well enough, what you would add? (note that you can see a video of a lap now by clicking the track maps in the config section) All the best, Tim
Thanks for the track ISI will check it out later. Tim, one thing that struck me from that (intro) video is the lack of a decent HDR profile, does'nt do the track/sim any favours whatsoever and yet the screenshots are much better. Sorry to say it but the video looks bland and...well...as though it's from rf1.
It looks to me like it was shot at noon. The screenshots were shot at varying times. All I can suggest is looking around on a sunny day at noon, then looking around again at other times. I can replicate the same 'blandness' every sunny day for you with a camera, the light simply isn't as special.
Looks like a very fun track, love tracks with lots of elevation changes. but why did you lock the comments and ratings on the youtube video?
Yes I understand that dont patronise me please. People who are new to RF2 will think it looks Bland and from rf1, you need to either explain that in the Info section below the video or explain to them individually....good luck with that!
Well this was an awesome little surprise to find just after a long day at work. Screens look amazing, getting ready to try it out. This might be the nicest looking track yet, considering the scenery and such.
I really don't think I do need to explain that, it might come across as patronizing to those people who make the choice to see it that way, or to others it might come across as excuse making (the very thing being said about never releasing anything shot at noon). There are both screenshots AND the video available to those who want to view it, and I'm going to assume people might have the maturity to avoid snap judgements once in a while. Lighten up, for heavens sake.
I'm offering advice Tim, as a selling point the video would be received better at a different time of day when the colours are more vibrant and the true power of RF2s HDR is shown in all it's glory, as we already know....but newcomers wont, show the video like the screenshots and you've got a great selling point.
I understand, but I have to read plenty of other comments saying that there is never anything shown except 6am-9am and 6pm-9pm. How about we try to vary things? Which is what this release does with the screenshots and the video. Who knows? Perhaps the next release will be the other way around, and those who want to make a snap judgement can do it however they'd like, basking in the worst of both worlds.
Exactly! I found it quite refreshing with a new time of day shown in the previews. I've been racing around during sunset and sunrise for 4 months now, so good to see something else haha.
