Yea, at least we can make some cool replays and screenshots! but, what do you think about the 2 screenshots above?! I think that those conditions are natural and realistic and not overdone like those from Pcars! why rf2 doesn't have that natural lighting anymore?!
It does. Though the HDR profiles haven't been setup as the track makers want for a while, I think, due to the white 'blowout' issue. Though I think that's fixed in the next build.
wait....what??? lol Removing sun glare for photographs is one thing but for a sim is something else. We're not trying to mimic the view through a camera lens but view through the race drivers eye.
So basically that means that HDR will look significantly better after the next build? Or at least, much better looking HDR profiles will be achievable after the next build?
Maybe he taking about the bloom HDR profiles. Some already setup in 'Lime Rock Park' track. View attachment 10246 It does have a bad side effect, maybe this is what Tim means:- View attachment 10247
Are you saying that the camera car video posted is adherent to the real view of the driver? Jeez...when in front of the sun he would be crashing at any turn! Last summer I drove some 4000 miles in USA West deserts (Nevada, Arizona, Utah, even Death Valley at noon) and, believe me or not, never ever seen something like that
Speaking of Sun glare.. , how is this for a view at the top of Mt Panorama Bathurst taken this morning from one of the race drivers leading up to this weekends race. View attachment 10250 View attachment 10249
Personally I am for ultimate graphical realism, both camera and eyesight realism, in the car and from track side replay cameras. The fact is, when driving into the sun with glasses or without, there is a certain amount of difficulty there that is not present when not driving into the sun. I think rF2 should have sun effects that look something like these pictures. The dirty windshield effect is already present in rF2 and I think it looks wonderful, but I think that it should be increased a little and there should be some sun bloom as well. We need some give and take when it comes to graphical realism over simulating difficulty under certain conditions. The fact is that its harder to see where you are going when driving into the sun, maybe its a little harder or a lot harder... there needs to be something that makes it more difficult than normal driving.
I don't know why there is such a fixation on cameras and lens flare, but when I look at the sun, I can't see **** because the sun is kinda bright, no? Start there and add a layer of shade to protect the driver's eyes, but the effect is still there underneath. Do you guys ever go outside?
3 pages about the sun...yet the tyre smoke needs way more attention in its current state Edit: oh and people being able to turn off smoke and rainspray effectively cheating online needs serious attention aswell
