Thanks Tim for all your work. Get some rest, you deserve it! Oh and yes, I like thee new look of the site, cause it's new I guess
Oh I'm sure that just like any act of this kind, they're just attaching themselves to an issue, but the IPs caught in the logs do resolve to Syria. While they could be spoofed, and I may not know enough to know I'm spoofed, that's pretty damned crazy. Anonymous apparently hacked them back and released their IDs as well. All good fun, I suppose. We'd only ever have a maximum loss of a week in any case as I do backups, even if something catastrophic happened. And this is one of the reasons why I hosted the forum on a paid server (as is the rF Web site, etc) rather than anything in-house.
I was just about to post a thread in the forum info part of the forum, looks very nice on a widescreen. I guess its a bit less on tablets etc?
Tablets and phones SHOULD load the mobile layout, which is quite nice on them. You can preview it by switching from Web to Mobile at the bottom left of the screen on your PC
I cant (re)upload my avatar, just keeps telling me 'cant save image'. Not sure if something broke along the way? Ive tried renaming it, resizing etc, no go.
Tapatalk isn't working for me since the downtime, getting the message 'Failed to connect to forum, please check with the forum administrator if this problem persists'. Anyway, good job Tim with damage limitation and keeping things going Also, i really liked the blue theme, is there any way we can customise the colour scheme?
Dont like the "old" new look, too white for my liking Staff Post icons missing too and Tim you're always ill, get some warm Whiskey & Lemon down ya!
If I could choose, i'd have dark background with white text like I have on other forums(some by default, some by choice). Though I run f.lux so the white doesn't bother me anyway. Without it it's very harsh on the eyes. Try it http://justgetflux.com/ It's especially good for night use before going to bed, I use it most of the time anyway. It might seem a bit strange at first but you get used to it and should notice a difference for the better.
FWIW a bunch of vBulletin sites got hit: http://blog.sucuri.net/2013/08/potential-vbulletin-exploit-4-1-and-5.html
I think germs get mutated in different countries. My daughter brings stuff home, and passes it to me. Immune system of a child over here in the USA.
I got this mail from notebook forum (which apparently I'm a member of? lol) about their hack: Don't know if they have uncovered something you havent Tim, but might be worth forcing a password reset, or should we not be worried?
In the logs you could see exactly what they did, both in the server logs and the forum logs. They could have deleted stuff and didn't. You can reset if you feel like it, but bear in-mind the forum is not connected to anything else.
If you know the owners, tell them to check NOTICES in the forum cp. Mine was different to how other vBs were affected that I read about, so I had to find it.
