Thanks. It's frankly very hard to comprehend this... Online your files wouldn't have validated if different. Offline it sounds totally like you had an aid enabled, which could easily be done by accidentally touching an F key.

 

Sorry, showing my age a bit. I meant they look like a reduced color bitmap from old games.

 

If all three are grey, you're not activated.
If multiplayer and update is, you're not logged in.

update was a success, did it auto update
I have the same reflection thing as others do
see the rain, see the cloud in the back, trace of tires on the wet track but no rain reflection...
did not notice fps stuff... as it was running fine

Seems like I wasn`t logged in after all.

Funny thing is though I`ve never had to log in before this build iirc...



Anyway, all is fine now so I`ll try the auto update.

Different launcher now. They wanted to make it more obvious that you needed to be logged in to use auto update.

Tim, some people asked about raindrops on visor/windscreen, and the to early disappearing car shadows. I think both are very high on most users wishlist.
Can you tell something about the priority's of these two, maybe in comparsion with tyremodel, drivetrain and online improvement's?

 

It works!

This is what I did:

1. uninstall rF2 and cleaned up registry with CCleaner.
2. downloaded the content sampler build 300.
3. installed rF2 without any third party stuff. Worked fine.
4. installed third party stuff. e.g. Nordschleife 0.96 and Maserati Trofeo (not sure what version) Still working.
5. testing the new build. Not yet done.

I will post again after some test laps. If I don't post anytime soon I'm probably too immersed in rF2 and can't quit driving.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I also had Longford installed which I didn't notice as third party stuff at first. And, no, I'm not using any kind of plugin. At least none that I am aware of. Never installed anything like it.

 

The performance is bad and you should feel bad!

 

Ahh right. I remember hearing about this now... if I`d taken a bit of time instead of coming back to post I may have thought about the new launcher.

So far I've removed and re-installed lite and demo, manually deleted the folders and ran cc cleaner. Still unable to launch the game. The demo will launch, all the boxes stay white. Please help.

 

I just did a few laps and everything seems to work properly. Just one thing I found to be a bit disheartening. My framerate is awful. 22-27max. Graphic options are all the way up, though.
Another thing is that the headlights and bonnet of the car are flickering like crazy in replays. I think this one is already known.

 

Something is wrong. Your CPU and vid card are slightly better than mine and I see 35-70 FPS with 3 screens and 15 AI and everything full with HDR on. No AA though. 35FPS only happens at back of grid and at hairpins on first lap with entire field within 100m. I have i5 at 3.4G and a 560 with 1280MB. I do overclock my Nvidia but running it normal would not pull me down to 22-27... at least not B300.

Edit: Let me be more truthfull. Some things I do keep low or off: everything full/max except X8AF, special effects low, shadows high. Shadow blur, movies, sun occlusion, rain drops, crowd motion are off. I don't need these things to make the sim look great and I never consider turning them on. Also I never choose to play in the rain!

BTW, if your 570 is overclockable you should definitely do it! FPS goes up almost proportionally to OC boost. And I see your CPU runs at 3.4. I must be dyslexic, I first read that as 4.3! But actually I OC'd my CPU before I did the vid card and it gained me nothing in rF2 FPS. OC that vid card if you are able... with caution of course as you may damage it! (never forget the disclaimer )

 

It sounds like you didn't update from 298 properly until you reinstalled.

 

As per the FAQ, you need to activate on the purchase tab.

 

Ran the update, completely flawless for me, no issues!

FPS, up 10 - 20%
