new version looks great, also Tosh's HDR profile looks fine. From my point of view the optical part is done for 95%. Now it's time to keep the focus on the mesh. Would be great if you could smooth some parts of the embankmant just behind the guidrails which are visible. There are some areas with very sharp edges, and of course, some smoothing to the guidrails would give a bosst to the environmental look. And think about illuminating the Nürburg at night
Thanks pleclair for your work. Awesome progress. Trees and bushes looks perfect now. Best i have seen in rf2 so far. Green hell looks GREEN But grass is definetely oversaturated even with HDR profile chosen to none, which is very dark. Did you brighten up the road again or is it my imagination? And despite fps around 50 i have stuttering all over the track.
You did better than me, mine shuts down at 14%, and just as you, I've never had problems with it. Maybe it is the popularity of the file!
Would be nice if people with access to the Ring could give feedback on trackside objects that could be removed, like some of the armco.
Hi. Thanks for another new version so fast Also thanks all for seeding on BTsync. Its maxing out my 12Mbit dsl connection. That p.o.s. mega site just wont work on my machine
Thanks again Tosch for your input and hdr's! 11 seeders now... some grab it and split hehe! PLeclair, wow does the lighting make a difference! Thanks!!!!
Trying to lap G Unsuccessful but fun! The Real Headmotion Plugin and custom Settings I am using http://www.mediafire.com/download/n7qo3qcv3iwd5l7/rF2+-+RealHeadMotion102513.rar
I just copied Tosch's "g" profile to the btsync share. I tried loading the track but it barfs with an error "loading material GRASS9" (tried both tx detail full and high). Any ideas? Cheers, Uwe
Low detail works! Now 99% smooth on my rig, just need to squeeze that last bit of fps somehow. 'Mega' sh1t lol I wasted hours on that site. Do the site developers even test it works, I've tried Firefox (no button to allow >50mb), Chrome (slowly downloads 600mb then nothing at 100%), IE (ugh even this fails). I shall not go near Mega with a 10ft barge pole.
My best guess is corrupted download, if track works correctly on others. Basically this error means, that rF2 cannot find specific texture to material from MAS - file. You could try to rebuild shaders, but it unlikely fixes this... Cheers!
Is anyone else who downloaded via btsync having this problem? Here's the md5sum on my end: $ md5sum Ring_Tourist_0.97g.rfcmp 33ce227d5c2d2882be85dffe5a7412d9 *Ring_Tourist_0.97g.rfcmp Seems others can run the track fine, I'll try redownloading to see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion, Uwe
Thanks, I downloaded a new version via btsync and now everything seems fine! I've set up a server running the URD EGT cars at version 0.97g, anyone up for a couple of laps online? Cheers, Uwe
Version 0.97g of the Ring has some nice improvements, but the colors, sorry but I have to say that, are horrible. To make my point more clear. The textures itself are excellent, very nice detail (especially the new grass). It is the color that makes them look wrong (with hdr enabled). I can't fix this with an hdr profile. Some textures are to bright, others are to dark, some are oversaturated and the overall colormix looks somewhat strange. I tried a lot of stuff the last week and modified a lot of textures. ATM I'm uploading what I have to Mega and send a Link to pleclair when it's done. Here is my proposal for the track. As some may notice. The leafs of the close trees look somewhat pixalated because of recoloring in PS. I need the original textures to improve that.
