I started driving the wonderful Maserati a few days ago, and I noticed that the AI has a hard time using the car to its full capacity. It usually cannot get off the grid in a reasonable fashion, which lets me pass about 5 cars before the first turn, it flips all the time and it can be painfully slow at some tracks. I won by 30 seconds in Montreal after 10 laps at 105%, ridiculous. I'm wondering if ISI are providing modders ways to set up the AI of their car, or is there something I could tweak besides the in-game options (I had to turn AI to 85% and Aggro to 20% to get decent behaviour, which is too low)? I've had problems with the Formula Renault on some tracks, but usually, the ISI stuff is much stronger. I just wish I could use the extra stuff like the Maserati and the eventual LMP cars as much as I want. I mean, c'mon... Eh eh , just saw this. http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/13170-Track-and-AI-drive
Unfortunately AI needs serious improvement. Because they are far from ideal ... I have a lot of problems in racing against AI ... I hope ISI is planning to refine them, because I hate online racing and I only have time to drive in the offline mode
also AI often rammed into my car... sometimes race against AI is very interesting, but sometimes AI make foolish mistake and it leads to the end of my race. This is very annoying I hate ramming AI...
I was quoting DriverN1 so no idea why you said: anyway, maybe they need proper talent files then, that might help improve their performace. If not then it's down to the modder to tweak his AI accordingly.
Thanks, I didn't even know about these before. It's just sad that AI inconsistencies limit the number of tracks you can use a car on.
there's also inconsistencies in tracks as well, if you're runnong on a community made track then maybe that is not up to a decent enough standard to warrant AI racing.
try the maserati @ an official ISI track ... such as silverstone ... see if they behave there .... many of the mod tracks have terrible AI paths...
it's strange thing... there are a lot of mod tracks in RF1 which have not such problems... why mod tracks in RF2 has so often got problems with AI behaviour?
The main thing is optimization, proper operation of the clutch and little else. A simulator of these features is usually to play online, the AI is unnecessary. GT6
