I think I had this specifically for that version upgrade, it is a known problem. Try downloading the update from the website. From 218 it works in the launcher for updates again. If you can backup your user data stuff properly and know that route well. Then try the 240 lite install method
It is timefor you to make a fresh install I think. Many things have changed till 198. Go there http://rfactor.net/web/rf2/rf2dl/ and d/l Lite Installer. Then d/l all content and install. You should save any third party content you might have, but you should throw away previous ISI stuff and download the current ones.
I just did the same a couple of nights ago, the game feels much better now??? oh well happy with that! Got to turn in some better lap times now
Answer to my icon placement was in changing from the arcade HUD to the RF2 4 Motec HUD that accompanies the fazeboz map plugin. Flag and pit icons all appear at windscreen height now.
OR ..... maybe some time ago Tim told that he would keep this kind of topics stickied for about a month or so, before unsticking. (just like with content releases/updates). However, it looks like Jeremy want to release one of the next builds, as soon as it is good enough, so you can be right after all (update: Links to were Tim suggested so: here and here, just to confirm that this doesn't necesarily mean anything)
Well I guess it comes time to say goodbye to build 240, I must say this build was a really good one infact I cant think off the top of my head I had a problem with if anything, no it just felt goood. If I had to mention something than dropping out shadows and the near by shadow renderer thing you see on the walls and road they really need fixing soon. Again something else hows my triple screen support coming along in multiview and fps? I wont even bother going back there till I know its sorted, I will stay 3D instead thats too cool but better if i could have both. Really looking forward to build xxx, see you all online tomorrow nite.
Will spinning out at 10-20km/h from stationary position (especially on grass) be resolved in a future build?
One other thing I just remembered too... Tires still get white hot and melt when spinning out in the dirt or grass just as much as when doing it on the road. I hope at some point this will be corrected.
