Thank you. We'll be very grateful. Thank you. Could you tell us the result, please? Thank you. We are going to uninstall and reinstall it and we'll post the result.
You keep linking back to this post that you solved the problem but you haven't explained how you solved it.
True, I wasnt the one to solve it anyway, neither I would understand even if it was explained to me. Our admin did it and he promised to come and post results here. He is a very busy fellow IRL, thats what I meant with "asap""
No problems encountered after multiple tests. I completely removed all references to 218 on the server before installing 228, and had to manually delete residue files still left in the rFactor2 folder. Uninstall... doesn't. The install was at C:\simulations\rfactor2 with no separate path for data and nothing in the server profile or the documents folder.
If you cant change your server or install as yet there is a very simple workaround. Do not use Leave Track instead select or vote to remove yourself. All there is to it.
Thank you very much guod. I'm going to uninstall it, delete every file in the folder and install the 228 build. This weekend i can't. On monday i'll give you feedback
Make sure everyone sets a easy reach YES vote whilst racing You can also boot someone as soon as they use leave track, although you would need to pit to do it, so no use for race session.
I know, I found the fix testing with ai first night of build ( could not post workaround, I was banned ) lol What I meant was if a driver leaves your race using leave track someone would have to pit to vote to boot him in case he returns later and and wrecks the race. ie: Not much use. I think voting in hud could be a good thing ie: allow you to get rid of wreckers within the race ( without pitting) I never leave races, in fact I think its is pretty rude if you can't hang around to watch.
You can vote with chats. /vote. But you would still have to type the name which would be hard while driving.
Sorry for not getting back sooner. I will get reply up soon with a comprehensive post explaining which settings we used for Sim Racers 4 Life dedicated servers which now seem to run flawlessly
I think that we just need that things work as they should. If nobody asked for this (booting someone while driving) in rf1 is because not really needed. Online races cannot be joined while in race (apart from rejoin which is different) so nobody undesired could be driving without admins permissions. Changing topic. The uninstall concept is very strange in rf2. Until today it meant that you removed a complete software from your system. We know how to backup car and track files. It is not acceptable that we need to manually erase file. If you want, you can create two type of uninstalls one full and one light but please consider that what you have done is adding more variables to a highly bugged product where problems seems to differently affect depending on how they installed a software and how was it configures before an update. Unacceptable. Enviado desde mi GT-I9505 usando Tapatalk 2
Some of the comments in here have me totally at odds. I still don't know if it is a bug or a fresh folder fixes it. Guess the only way I find out is to do it myself. Another option at least for the rF2 dedicated menu is for host to run admin, set resolution to windowed mode and leave your dedicated menu up in corner of screen or if you so lucky on your 2nd screen. mmm that would mean you could have any server up ie: if it was too big. So if someone "leaves track" you only need look for the one says AI and click boot within a lap or 2. Easier then typing.
Nice tip durge although we will try yo solve it reinstalling everything from scratch Enviado desde mi GT-I9505 usando Tapatalk 2
Well yesterday was first time online with the new build for me and I encountered this 'bug' 3 times in 10 races (this was all on the same server), unfortunately rF2 crashed on me during 2 of those races so no replay or results file to compare However for the laggy race that I did complete, it seemed to be just 1 person who seemed to get 'stuck' leaving and seemed to be causing the lags. he wasn't the first to leave the server either nor was he the last, quite why his leaving seemed to cause the problem I don't know. Looking at the replay he didn't seem to have anything weird happen ontrack, he got caught up in the usual start chaos you get with a big field, he stuck it out for a couple of laps with a couple more 'offs' and decided to park it after the last one, car was probably damaged and he was well down the field. However when his car got put back to the pits instead of just having an empty car just sitting there for remainder of the race it seemed that he (or an AI driver more likely) kept reappearing inside the car in the pits just for a split second at regular intervals that started and coincided with the lags on the server.
Yes for sure, I will also do fresh tonight if no responses ( I updated ) I got menu as unobtrusive as possible ready to test in race. Say clockit was a maniac or high pinger or used leave track or he did not respond to questions about not using leave track in race and I was suss ......... hypothetically speaking clock ! I just have to highlight the name and leave my mouse hovering on Boot tab before the race.
