Have you heard the new sound, it's just incredible.
I know somebody will say 'You're a fan boy'
    Maybe... I don't know.. ;)

    But try this:
Run this two movie in same time (carefull you must adjust sound before, the real one is more high, you must down the volume)

    the real one

    RF2

    Verdict ?

R35, Megane,370 all are just terribles.
PS : Good job ISI, keep the way ;)

Well, I'll say that I love them XD

Tried the 3.5, GTR and the Megane. All sound real nice to my ears. No more sound loop in the 3.5, no more nasty buzz in the Megane.

    Nice :D

Well, that's nice. I saw a video in the other topic too and heart the sounds.

But most of the time, I sit IN the car and I would like to hear that one ;)

The megane´s outside noise is awful

    Real one:

    New sound:

    Megane sound by RMT (perfect):

For me still sounds like crap.

All the other new sounds are great (in car sounds most of all)

    Haven´t really compared the 370 old/new sound.

Well. I don't agree with the OP at all. First off I want to say that at the moment I'm not playing any other racing games. This one has rendered the others obsolete in my eyes, at the moment at least. However I'm playing Rfactor 2 inspite of the sound engine not because of it. Any form of surround sound isn't supported despite being in the menu's. On 198 the Clio's sound still distorts when there are enough of them on grid. I read on a post from Tim the other day that sound is low on the priority list. I was surprised as hell with that, do I have hardware issues or are people playing with the tv turned up next to them and not listening to the sounds. On the little parts of the tracks where surround sound works it add to the immersion massively.

Can't compare the REAL to the "Rfactor New Sound" vid, because they are from different view points. Apples and oranges! :)

The sounds are improving. I hope to have 5.1 support in the end.

BTW, I was in Indycar racing last week and once again I could realize how "dirty" the race cars sounds are, with a huge amount of loud exhaust backfire during downshifting. I miss that feature in almost all rF1 mods and rF2 as well.

I'd like to see some more spunk in the Spark and Eve engine sounds. They aren't bad but would like to know if there are plans to make more dramatic.

I'd like to see a technically improved sound engine all together, the sound engine has barley improved since the late 90's Sports Car GT, let alone their later F1 games or RFactor 1.

Everything sounds way too simple, basic, thin, digital, consistent, on/off, pre-recorded with the game just pressing "play" when a certain sample is called for, etc etc etc.

Sound engine is still totally 1990s, it's only some people's brilliance at using samples and manipulating the engine that has barley saved it all these years.

It's not just RFactor, it's most game companies.

Oh and please dont mention RRRE, their sound is technically junk too, they add a bit of echo/reverberation and probably a couple other minor things and then make a big deal of it. For the amount of hype/marketing they had/have about their sound it was a huge disapointment. It sounds 90% ISI sound engine too me. They have some pretty good samples though, but you could put those same samples in RFactor 1 and get 85% the same effect.

    LOL like this :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gc9szge4sus

Maybe have you a onboard cam without wind ;)

But if we ignore the background noise due to the wind, it's really not bad too

While R3E may not be as super special as it sounds, it does give me that almost overload of sounds inside the car, which I think is good. I noticed when I played a little bit of it, that they have sounds of driveline lash, going on and off the throttle. The little things like that.
What I like with rF2 is the quite audible quickshifters, i.e. the bang from the fuel burning in the pipe.

This sound in the first bit of this vid just is awesome, I'd love a gmae to someday have the same level of complexity in its sounds.

I'm picking that most of the incar sound in rF2 is induction and engine noise, not exhaust note that people want to hear XD
Especially in an open wheeler...the intake sitting above your head haha

Sounds certainly have improved, I now use Headphones when racing as the lack of surround sound support renders my speakers pretty much useless.....trouble is my ears get hot quick!

Nope, it's actually none of those. I'm pretty sure it's just one recording of whatever .wav file, then that just blends to another .wav file depending on rpm and throttle load.
