nVidia, & the Spa grass is too bright now for me -too light in tone against the vegetation, before was deffo more natural looking - again - to me! Edit: just tried the Eve F2 round Monaco - very, very nice New driver's arms & hands, new cockpit texturing around the instruments, whole car has had a "brush up" with textures (as others have said) - also something I'm pretty happy about : much more contrast & darker tones evident now, so whole feel is more substantial & not grey & "washed out" anymore ..nice one dev team
ISI, I can't thank you enough, especially and particularly for the significant AI improvements on all three tracks. Since I do most of my racing off-line, I've been one of those guys harping on the importance of AI. Previously, AI issues were the one thing keeping me from loving rF2. The Historic AI is now good enough that I had one of my best afternoons of sim racing since I first fired up GPL in 1998. Keep up the good work and keep working on the AI.
Isn't there some sort of graphics cache folder that people should delete so that the game reloads certain graphics things? I've heard that can fix many issues.
I tested the Eve F2 at snetterton yesterday. Car seems to be more slippery, front tires locking easier and more tricky at the rear. Result was laps a bit slower than the previous version.
Mirror adjustments doesn't work with Spark cars. Works with Eve and Brabham. Can everybody confirm that?
Some small graphical glitches I`ve noticed with the new content. I`m sure you guys (ISI) may have spotted these but thought I`d say anyway, just in case. The two small white posts got stuck on my car for a good 30 odd seconds... (I know this happened before the update too but I`ve never had it for so long before) Also noticed this bug on the steering wheel (red circle)... this keeps on coming and going as it were. Seems like the steering column head is coming through the wheel sometimes... Plus I noticed this too... baked bean mentioned this and showed a video of it iirc but just thought I`d post it anyway. No smoke etc visible through the windscreen...
This was introduced with build 198. Hopefully they will fix it in the next build. It seems all 3d objects have a reflective "skin" on them now that is very unnatural. If you take HDR off you will also see the car textures are now grey.
Uninstall the older versions. Everything from it has been replaced. Also make sure you're using a current build.
Some issues reported are code issues (for next build) rather than content issues, and some were known, but if I am correct to this point in the thread: - mirrors not adjustable in spark - wheel off, seat pos 200/0 can see world movement through car body - smoke/spray not visible through windscreens - object popup tracks - eve has object popping through steering wheel - reflections affecting world in current build - A few negative posts on Spa grass, a few less positive ones Anything else?
I like the way this post looks. Tim, you have no idea how much the atmosphere can improve (ISI-users relations) thanks to posts like this one. I don't need to know everything but I smiled when I saw this post. Keep it up. You will see the difference if this kind of communication continues. You will be pleased by what you'll see, I guarantee.
Yes. You can do it manually, deleting everything in the ..\Documents\rFactor2\UserData\Log directory, or you can force the game to rebuild the shader list just turning on/off (and apply) the HDR, then reloading the track BTW, dunno if this trick will fix the issues we're talking about, and furthermore, the shader list is rebuilt each time you make a fresh install or you change your in-game video settings.
One other thing Tim... the drivers elbow/arm still comes through the side of the car when cornering in the Eve`s (I think it was only the Eve`s but might have been happening in the Spark`s too) I know this has been happening for a while now but seems it still is. I`ll get a screen if needed.
Hi Tim, thanks for dropping by and asking us in this way. I assume the shadow drawing issues are related to code that will be improved in builds rather than specific updates but, as you know, I haven't a clue really. Am I right and is it going to be sorted out soon?
