That does have a realistic look to it, certainly from in car. Very good.

One little thing... the screen at the start of the vid, where it tells you the info and graphics settings...

You have "Nisson" instead of "Nissan"

    :D

I agree. However it's from the trackside cameras where the game can often look poor.

    It's a strange situation really.

I still dream about the day that rFactor 2 will have this quality of sound. Google Translator!

Yeh, the trackside cams look of rf2 atm can let the overall look of the sim down a bit.

I`m sure it`ll all click into place with time though. :)

I think it might be the shaders on the cars and sometimes i get an odd feeling that HDR doesn't work properly with trackside cams, just seems a lot more dull than it should be?

Here's a screenshot i snapped using the same graphics settings, but on Poznan with the Clios, mighty impressive if viewed full screen:

HDR certainly improved with the last build. I imagine that there is only so much work the guys in art can do when they've got another three or so cars in the pipeline, and at least one track

What makes you believe art guys are programming graphics? They are not.

Nice pic but the sky is to dark in default settings. You can tweak that by the hdr profile but the best results come from a low "turbidity" setting (weather settings).

No, it works in devmode only. Turbidity is a weather setting and is not influenced by the hdr profile.

    Wow!
Those shots look great....but even better with that nice, clear sky.
This is why I'm so optimistic about this simulation.
I see a 'bottomless pit' of development in the next few years.

I am not campaigning for passage DX10-11, and did not want that. Hunt to see balance in colors and lighting. Pure color, light and shadow, a sense of space and infinity of the sky. It is present in rFactor1 (only shadows were bad elaboration)

pCARS can look stunning (I have it) but I'd like to see rFactor 2 progress to the level of blending that iRacing has. The car, shadows, and track all fit very well within the environment. I purchased rFactor 2 hours ago and right away was taken aback by the low resolution textures and the lack of shadow cast by the car when driving through a shadowed area.

EXACTLY, it's all about the blending!!!

This is why, to me, Richard Burn Rally still looks really good, in certain ways, in other ways of course it looks old and comparatively bad.

But it still looks realistic to me because like Guimengo said, everything blends. The colour palette, object design, detail, resolution, etc etc of all things looks like it's all part of the same world. The "look" of everything all looks like it's part of the same virtual world.

It doesn't look like a bunch of randomly and separately made objects all thrown in together to make a game, but rather like the game itself generated and created all the objects/graphics.

This graphics "blending" is what makes RBR so natural and realistically looking to watch and play, even though the graphics themselves are very outdated, if that makes any sense to people (I know it sounds very contradicting). Also, RBR's good physics to graphics implementation, and a pretty realistic sounding sound engine, also greatly add to the natural and realistic feel of it's graphics, but these last 2 points are for a different conversation together.

I want to see somebody who reach this level of trackmodelling.

Omg now I want to play RBR again... a few years ago there was almost no addon tracks at all, but I remember bob's trackbuilder came and last time I played it there was one great user made rally stage that only could be used in some online plugin thing. But the site where I downloaded everything to RBR disappeared (black hole motorsports something) and I stopped playing it after a while.
