I should probably put this in the wish list area, but an option to delete the paints when exiting the server would be nice, or better yet, a checkbox below the "download custom paints" to delete paints upon exiting a server would be nice. 5 MB paints will fill up a HD pretty fast.
You do know hoser that you should have already chosen your skin in the tuning area for the car you are running, right? Just asking to be sure that you don't forget a step As to the 5mb per skin filling up a HD pretty fast, if you have that little room left on your system that skins will fill your drive, perhaps turning off replays might be a good idea as they take a lot more room than the skins will. It would take roughly 200 skins at 5Mb each to fill 1Gb of storage. It might also be an idea to keep skin transfer turned off for public races and only have it on for league races so you can keep the number of skins to a minimum. I do agree though that there should be an option to delete skins on exit, but I would want some control on what skins get deleted in case I race some of the same guys over and over. That would save on the downloads if you already have their skins saved.
Might be a coding headache and possibly slow things down a little, but having an option to save skins to a different location would be cool.
I did, but thanks for the reminder, PS - as you can see above it's working now. I have plenty of room, but just wait. You start joining a bunch of serves with custom skins and your HD will fill up faster than you think.
Hi, I configured the dedicated server to authorize the transfer of skin after that. I check to enable the transfer of my skin on my game; I see my skin on the server. Another player connects and has enabled the transfer of skin too. But nothing is downloaded or square are you talking about?
Is the HTTP server enabled? Code: HTTP Server Port="64297" // range is 1025 - 65535. Used for file sharing HTTP Server Enabled="1" // Whether the dedicated server starts a HTTP server You also need to allow and possibly forward the HTTP server port, it´s TCP. To check if the HTTP server works, you can enter the (external) IP and HTTP port of our server in your browser and get the server_details.json: Code: http://<ip of your server>:<HTTP server port>/server_details.json Cheers, Marcus
Has this been fixed yet for the server side? Or is there another workaround for creating unique car windows per car?
This should do what you need? An extra advantage of MASing the skins is that they get compressed for faster transfer .
Thanks Luc. Please clarify a couple of other points. a) One .mas file per car or one mas file per set of cars? Example: 1f I have 15 Clios to run at Spa, do I place all the main .dds files and the windows .dds files (unique to each car) in one .mas file, or have a separate .mas file for each car? b) What is the proper naming convention that should be used with the .mas file approach? TIA
adobe made it free for people who already have a license, so we are not allowed to download it. yuo can see what they wrote in the link :its free and open-source software http://www.gimp.org/ a tuturial i made for making skins in gimp http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/13807-gimp-skinning but if you want photoshop i would recomend photoshop elements, its mutch cheaper that cs version but it does not have all the stuff that cs have, but not every one needs it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_raster_graphics_editors
Im not sure if this is the case or you are overeacting, but I deleted the link at my post anyway, do the same to yours mr Lawman.
