Tire wear on outlap (right orange vertical bar)
Tire wear on lap 10 (black vertical bar next to it)

The tires graph of 1.39s lap (multi-color) and 1.41s lap (black)
note that higher temp tires resulted in slow laptime.

Has the information that is collected by Motec been fixed as far as tire temps? Do you still see temp spikes that are crazy high at times?

    A bit off-topic.

Use the print screen button and then "paste" in Paint. Save as .PNG for screenshots and the screenshot quality will be top notch.

I haven't looked at any data yet but I found those crazy temp spikes in the past happened when running over rumble strips and curbs.

I did 50 laps at Joesville with the FR3.5 to see the tire wear- it's just like that video we all saw before rF2 beta was released. Yeah the tire wear is a lot better now. I feel it a lot more on track too

Could you please post a link to that MoTeC template/workbook? I really like the layout of that.

Yesterday on a test server I totally ruined a set of wets on Croft, it's pretty nice to see and feel the tires give out. I know you are not supposed to run wets on a dry track, but hey we're testing ;) I do think the dropoff in grip could be bigger, right now I did lose grip but I suspect it should be more than it currently is.

    edit:
What I forgot. The tires can't blow up yet can they?

Interesting question. I believe we do not have that yet.

Release Note : Realtime tire properties can no longer operate outside of their quasi-static analysis range (to prevent physics blow-ups when the tire gets really hot, for example).

The question is how should the temps behave - anyone have tyre surface data for a car? I'd say most guides and ideas we have are based on a temperature deeper down, or measured when the car gets back to the pits. So although temperatures hitting 3-400°C on 'short' slides do seem excessive, it's probably not actually that easy to say how far off reality it is. Unless someone has that data :)

Note to anyone taking this thread the wrong way - the tyres have always shown a 'wear percentage' in motec, just like they've always shown wear in the HUD.

With the C6R we only have 'Slicks'. I havent tried other cars or tires tho. Hopefully theres a specific tire build model i.e. Pirelli P-Zero so we can take it as a base in knowing its behaviour i.e. optimum temp/pressure etc.

10 laps and your LF is nearly gone??? That's a bit extreme. I hope you were just scrubbing the hell out of it.
