I'll be fine, I don't like to many buttons, I do have all my buttons on my steering wheels assigned to something though but I can press these without having to look at them

You should be able to use all buttons without looking, not a lot different to learning to type.

However I could see a full on Flight sim setup being a hassle.
Would you train a commercial airline pilot to use all controls by feel. ?

    Apart from that sounds unreal.

In 2D when driving fullspeed straight into a wall in rf2 i sometimes get a strange feeling in my stomach just before the hit. More in stereoscopic 3D. I hope i don't have to change my panties more often with the oculus rift :)

Don't worry...with a long enough hdmi cable you can sit on the toilet whilst wearing the gear. :p

I didnt think that steelseries wheel had a use but along with the crapper, the rift and a wireless wheel I think we have all bases covered.

But not for sims...... This is not a good ideia for flight or racing sims, especially when you need to see buttons and motec stuff.

    Tiago

I only look at the screens for racing sims, I don't use lots of buttons. Maybe when they do the drivers for flight sims they will have one button to bring all the buttons on screen & they can be pressed using the mouse,

Can be very simple work arounds available

I've come to realise this isn't directly from the valve/developer support though, it's with a 3rd party software support and head-tracking has not been announced to be inclusive since that must come from a developer side for independent head movement to mouse/body-directional movement. :(

I guess, good thing at least the oculus is supported for starters, from 3rd parties or otherwise.

Oculus rift -over 10,000 pre-ordered already ...ISI supporting??

I think devs will be waiting til then to get the API by the sound of it, so when you first get it, it might be a bit of a slow uptake. But he did say they are prioritizing cockpit games as that's where they feel its most useful.

Tim, could you give us a rough gauge of the interest level from the devs in ISI on the oculus rift? :)

Thanks for keeping us updated Tim

Shame you guys don't receive priority etc for a quick devkit & API

I have my fingers crossed that it's not a big job for your guys & one takes a keen interest & sorts some support (within rf2 ) Fairly swiftly, guess rfactor 2 will be further down the line by march/April too so maybe not a bad thing

Let's all keep other posted closer to the time when we start receiving these things .....good things ahead! (hopefully ! )

It sounds like it's a couple of months before they will be even able to think about it.

We're a fairly small company. I would expect them to deal with racing titles from CM and EA first.

It's hard for me to believe this. If they aren't even able to think about new technology (great developers always do) would mean they have way to much work which will make them burn out and ISI dies.

Errr... I think he ment that there's no point thinking about it before the hardware is available and we see some response from devkit buyers?

Or it could mean you've blown this out of proportion.

The dev kit won't be available until March at the EARLIEST, and they are unlikely to provide a demo unit (even though I offered to return it). Thinking about this now would be a waste of our time and yours.

In actual fact, devs should start thinking about things when they have something to think about.

    Sheesh...
