Hello. I've just seen the link of free Photoshop CS2 on the rF2 Facebook site and thought to start with some test paintjobs... I downloaded the Clio Template and created a test paintjob with 1 logo on it. Well, after almost a hour, I finally managed to save it as DDS. So I named into CLIO_12alt test.dds and put it into this directory C:\Users\Lars\Documents\rFactor2\UserData\player\Settings\Renault_Clio I started Singleplayer, choosed the number 12 clio car, clicked on Tuning and tried to switch the Paintjob... Well, without success. There is just the normal original number 12 Design. Did I forget anything? Did I do something wrong? Please help me, its my first design
Sorry ProTrax, I can`t help with your problem but I`m keen to learn painting myself... did you learn from any tuts you may have links to or did you teach yourself? I`ve looked for tuts/info on the subject but haven`t found anything useful yet...
check this thread http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/7520-Post-your-RF2-car-skins-here?p=129504&viewfull=1#post129504 Create a folder "Clio_12" inside the "Renault_Clio" folder and save your skin to that location.
I tried this tutorial and realised i had to choose the paint layer before i am able to paint. http://www.rfactorcentral.com/skins/spraybooth.cfm I'm not further yet. Just put a Monster energy logo on one side and tried to get it apply. After its working, i will start with a real design and look for more tuts
Ok, thanks for the link, I`ll give it a going over later. If you find any good tuts on your travels I`d appreciate it if you`d let me know ProTrax. I`ll do the same.
Thanks alot! Now it applied but the black of the sticker looks like grey... @ tjc: I will post tutorial links if i find some good ones here
No, i dont know how to do it. Also, do i have to flatten every layer? €dit: Even after flatting, still the same problem... €dit2: I fixed it! You have to check the "Alpha Channels" window when saving as DDS. It didnt work with unchecked Alpha Channels, but with checked, its working as it should! This is it so far... Just one thing, how can i transform this white grid into just white color without grid? €dit3: You have to put the Wireframe layer behind all other layers to fix it Fullscreen http://i.imgur.com/KGI1y.jpg
Little Tutorial to make the background of logos transparent: Open the Logo or picture you want on the car, rightclick on the layer of the picture / logo in the layer menu on the right side, click on "Layer from Background", Select the "Magic Wand Tool" in the Tool menu on the left side, click on the background or the part(s) you want to make transparent and press DEL (ENTF for the German keyboards). Hope that helps
Me again I worked on a 370Z Design and already saved it as DDS. Now i can't find the folder of the 370Z.. Can anybody help me please?
There is no folder like that Can you copy the path please, i think i'm in the wrong folder. I'm in the same folder where the Renault Clio folder is. €dit: Working now Created a new Folder with this name: Nissan370zGT4 Thanks alot!
Great to see people learning skin painting. I remember my first attempts and they were hideous compared ProTrax's. Keep it up!
AW: Starting with painting [Problems] Painting will be essential for online identification when auto livery downloader comes with next updates i will try myself too in painting after CS2 is free now Gesendet von meinem HTC One X mit Tapatalk 2
@ ProTrax did you solve the problem with the black color? I just put some black parts onto a white GTR but it alwayslooks too greyish. And is there a possibility to do a matt painting? EDIT: I found another problem. View attachment 5686 Here you can see parts of the spoiler. I want to paint it black but it is impossible to paint the upper 2 parts in black because no selection is possible. It always selects the complete template This problem persists in other parts, too eg. the sides.
