    Hello all!
I searched on forum but I didn't get the exact answer I wanted!
I only saw about after a format but not a whole new pc!
If anyone knows how pls help me here.
One thing I found was to copy my .rFactor folder from Roaming folder.
    Is that it?
    Thanks in advance! ;)

The .rFactor2 folder contains your info, yes. If it's a new PC though, it'll probably make you reactivate anyway. Which you can do.

You do realize that you still have to install the sim on the new PC don't you? You can't just copy the rF2 folders and expect it to work.

Probably some confusion with rf1, which you could literally copy and play. At least if I remember right. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Never played rF1 so I have no basis to correct you, but with only few exceptions, programs installed in Windows require that they be installed again if you are moving to a new PC. I say with few exceptions because there are still some programmers that don't put anything into the system registry which is the norm for programs now a days.

Many if not most games work when simply copied. There might be missing savedata etc. but it will work (I don't say it will work 100% correctly). rF1 is one of those that work fully when copied, no need for install.
But you need to reinstall rf2 I'm pretty sure.

Not sure what games you have been working with Osella, but most games produced in the last 3 to 5 years write to the system registry and without that information the games won't work. Part of the copy protection that is inherent with the newer games.

Well, that might be the problem, 3-5 last years, lol. In the last 3 years i practically didn't install any games other than a couple of sims. I played all kinds of games before that, and remember it often worked...

Most games do need to be reinstalled but not all, even some new games (for example Blizzard games work without reinstall). Not sure about rF2 but it is worth a try.

Games that are online only are likely candidates for being about to just copy to new system as they require that you log in to their servers to validate. Games that have offline content will almost exclusively have to be reinstalled, though I have never tried with rF1 or rF2 so could be wrong there.

rF2 launcher should run on anything, don't think you need to re-install it.

I don't think roaming will work if it uses machine ID so you would just need to reactivate.

    Like Tim says.

pCARS you can install fresh with only copy of the launcher, no need to set it up.
    Much the same.

Except pCARS takes a month to install and update compared to rF2 hehehe

As in all games (Ive used) you had to install and then copy to a different location. If you renamed the folder, you could place it near original.
    Everyone had its unique .exe
