I used to love this car! Reminds me of the days in F1 challenge 99-02! This isn't my all time favorite car, but I did always love the look of it. I love the A-10 Warthog style nose! It's like a shark!
My all time fave would have to be the Lotus 49... loved the car and was a big Jim Clark fan even though he died before I was born. Then also from the era the Eagle Weslake was also a beautiful car. From a bit further on it would have to be the McLaren MP4/4 - MP4/5... also gorgeous cars and driven by the great Senna ofcourse. Would also have to mention Jackie Stewart`s Tyrrell 003 which I saw just a few days ago in Edinburgh`s National Museum. Another beautiful classic.
Absolutely one of my favourite cars. the others are (i am not good at remembering model names) williams with the shark nose (fw 26 I guess), BMW 2008 and any mclaren since they first put the silver on! (preferably 2005 though) Actually any 2007-2008 car looks fantastic to me. I know the lots of aero parts on the car was making overtaking impossible but they look just great!
I'd like to know if anyone remembers a vehicle called "the Green Monster". I think it was in 1958 or so. I can remember watching a quite a few races with my grandfather on black and white tv. Don't even know what class, but it was open wheeled. I was around 7 or 8 and remember those races were quite something to watch. I was just too young to really know what I was watching.
I'm thinking it could have been the Cooper T51, which in works colors was green, and as it was one of the first rear engined cars, it is quite feasible to think fans were calling it a monster.
My Fav would be Hello Saw this race at Toyota GP Long Beach a few years back Man it was Awesome to see. View attachment 4556 It looked to be a handfull but it was fast Ruben M.
Hey, thanks Tim, I've been searching now for the T51 and I think you are probably right. I've always wondered about it, but never thought to ask anyone about the Green Monster. I do remember my grandfather thinking something was special about it.
So many awesome machines were made to race from the 20's up to the 80's. After that I lost a bit of interest. My favourite all time open wheel car is the F5000 Lola T330 and T332 models.. yeah I'm an old bloke stuck in his timewarp
How this car did not make it into RF2 before the Brabham has got me beat, and I,m an Aussie. Without a doubt the best looking F1 car of that era.
