It was used for SHIFT, etc, but I guess they have replaced ISI code with their own by now.

By the same settings i got DX9 40FPS , DX11 60 FPS , but its not a " Wonderfull Pic " , too much errors today , so i try to use sgssaa , much more errors . But what i see absulutly clear is the way he goes , its the same like codemasters with her F1 Games , its only mainstream .

People think that DX is only a switch but it's not so easy. You will not get +20 FPS just by selecting DX11 instead of DX9 - if it were so simple everyone would be doing it. The reality is that developers have to change things (to optimize) for DX11. And as Tim already stated - that means doing double work and that is never a god thing. That time spent for a bit of eye candy or a few extra fps can rather be used to implement some additional feature (god knows we have an unending list of them, just look at the wish list sub-forum).

I’m not saying it’s easy and you need to know how to work with the DirectX 11 SDK but what new titles aren’t using or are not planning to use DirectX 11?

Even iRacing has announced that they are going to use DirectX 11 and with the update on 10/31 iRacing also became a 64-bit program.

Amazing. So thats why SHift was my favorite console game.

But for sure they aren´t using worse engine in pCars.

Yeah, they probably just rewrote the code, like ISI had to do after it no longer worked for EA. It's still going to have a similar base, but will no longer be the same thing.

Mmm... I`ve got to agree there D... does`nt really look very good/nice at all when up at 1920 does it.

Actually looks pretty bad... jag city and it`s got that blur too...

Are those hands actually grabbing the wheel or just kind of trying too?

    :p

Well, it's hard to match pCARS, but it still looks miles better than rF2.

Does it? Not imo, certainly as far as jaggies are concerned. I know rf2 needs better reflections and enhanced graphically in several ways (which is coming) but personally I think all the shots below look better at 1920 than that screen of AC`s Lotus (you`ll see them at 1920 when you click the pics and go to "original size" at flickr) not a jaggie in sight and these are all unedited in any way. I know the drivers helmet in the first shot does`nt look great but that`ll improve...

And also these screens are all from b90!

The reflections and lightning are far more natural in AC than in rF2. This improves greatly the sense that it's the real thing. rF2 still looks cartoonish.

They may be, but this will all come in rf2 and when it does, unless AC improves things, it`ll look far better than that AC screen above imo...

No jaggies in rf2 at 1920 but they are every where in that AC screen at the same res. I`m not here to knock AC btw, I`m looking forward to giving it a try... I`m just saying what I see. :)

Comparisons of unfinished games is pointless, wait until they are all Gold then it's fair game. At the moment you have a Beta, a pre Alfa and one we haven't even had a chance to drive...Hardly a level playing field now is it.

    @tjc

You should see also much higher poly count and much higher textures resolution in AC;)
I know that sometimes it's hard to be objective, but these screenshots don't lie :)

Yes, yes, I know, both sims are in development, but ATM AC looks much better...
...and yes, I know that physics is more important :p

Well said feels3!I always wanted to make to you a question mate!we all know about your big ability to make a high quality circuits, but have you never tried to make cars?
Do you have to learn different skills to do cars rather than tracks?

I agree with this in general but my point was really about jaggies...

I have already said that both titles (rf2 and AC) will improve in various ways but atm rf2 looks miles better as far as jaggies are concerned and I made this comparison because I was actually quite taken aback by the amount of jaggies in the AC screen when at 1920 compared to the lower res pics of AC which look really quite good.

So no need to compare other things, like poly counts or anything as my main point was regarding the jags. :)
