We did a small one with a dial your own time system (nominate your lap time and your handicapped accordingly). This mod was PERFECT for that style of racing and was so much fun. Birmingham, Monza, Mid Ohio, Spa, Lime Rock, Queensland Raceway, Brands Hatch....this mod just worked well on all variety of tracks. It was brilliant.
Hello Apex Moddgin Team! Is there any news/updates on this mod? I'm looking forward eagerly to this. Thanks!
hi all At this time the gt3 mod is in sleeping mode. Indeed, for the moment, all the members of the apex team are not convinced at all by rfactor 2. Moreover, other GT3 mods (copies of official game) have been released for rf1 since the release of our mod (unfortunately we planned to work on an evolution for rf1) and no doubt that it will be the case for rf2 We still check all the release of rf2 because we hope that the current gap will be solved by isi. IMHO, isi is not focused enough on modding issues, especially for the physics design (my role in apex team) and more precisely for the tire design. I hoped before rf2 release that isi will gave real design tools for the physic, on tire and also on suspension. But i think now that is over. Actually, months ago, I had the occasion to explain my position about tire design issues. I am happy that the rf1 mod pleased you, and beside the difficulty to provide "realistic physix", we always had in mind to maintain balance of performance between all these cars, each with its particular specs. Best regards, Gilles (french guy so excuse for the english) (Physix for Apex GT3 Mod)
Sorry to hear this but totally understand your teams choice. Being in a group also trying to get a car mod together for rF2 we're having the same issue as well as others that aren't mentioned here.
Yes, thanks for the info update. Sad news but fully understandable. Looks like rF2 isn't that mod-friendly as it was expected.
The problem is the tires. They aren't simple notepad tires anymore. The old TBC tire files were 11kb and the new TMG tire files are 917kb. The tires must be compiled with the +ttool. So with the more realistic tire model comes a whole new learning curve and ISI hasn't done much to help the modding community understand the new model. Most teams are probably just using the tires from the default ISI content right now.
