I haven't raced a human in almost a year. I quit a very active GPL league in search of a newer and better sim. Well I found it. And I love it. But very few people are racing the only cars I love, i.e., the 60s F1s. Yeah I know I could expand my range of cars and find some pickup as well as organized races but I don't want to do that. My love is for the classic F1s. There must be at least a handful of North and South American guys who think the way I do. So let me ask the question, would anyone be interested in getting together on some server say, once a week, between 6-9pm USA central time to have some informal 60s F1 races? Or in the afternoon-evening hours on weekends. I have no experience in hosting nor do I have the PC/upload power to do it. Maybe some intersted and knowledgeable person can do that part. I am not picky (though I may have opinions) as to specifics like what night, what tracks, how many laps, damage model, etc. I mainly just want human opponents in 60s F1s during hours when I am not at work or asleep. Anyone?...
You could try Race2Play, there are many races and series going on there open to all it's members. They have races going on in many sims including rF2. Oh you can also set up your own races as a member using their servers and people looking to race the same cars and tracks will join you.
If it's a fantastic community your looking for check out ARI here http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/7676-ARI-Fun-Race-10-Heartland-Park-Topeka-Short We're currently racing F3's and have a friendly interactive community. Fergy ARI Admin
race2play is barely running rF2. I really don't think they even want rF2 to succeed there the way they run it.
If I see a server running a 60s F1 All tracks mod, I'd join it. Love driving em round Mid Ohio, Sebring, Croft or Snettisham but I usually only see Spa occasionally or nothing.
When you run F1 I'll be there. Yeah that's what I found out. 1 Clio race and 1 GT something race with rF2. 10-12 rF races. Well OK... that's 2 of us! Maybe 4 or 5 more and we'll have something. I have only DSL connection. Think I need something better to host. So would you be interested in a once a week race?
I think RaceDepartment is also running weekly races. http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/forums/rfactor-2.68/
I was running there today in rF2, and like I said you can set up your own races so it is up to the community to do that...Rf2 is the new boy on the block so it will take awhile for it to start taking off. My club for example is not even thinking of moving from 1 to 2 for a year at least...I would guess when we go Gold then we may see more people setting up rF2 series, after all with constant changes and updates it is not yet a stable platform for a long series.
Ya i was there as well at r2p in the cleos , Dont assume ther not going to run rf2 , CR dosent know what hes talking about ,(sry CR lol) they have a solid platform for orginised online raceing with rankings and once rf2 goes gold ther will be plenty of rf2 races to choose from at r2p . We did the f1 60's at spa a while back with weather , it was some insane raceing going from dry to wet then dry again .. Until the beta is over you wont see more then a few a month ther however..... just sayn ;-)
Yeah and spa is boring. Probably same people who do civil war reinactments. Forget historic accuracy. Let's have fun! Topeka, Sebring, mountain forget and of course sears point. Crazy stuff! And forget all the specialists who drive the same course for 5,000,000 laps just so they can be competitive b/c they don't know how how to drive.
Seeing this Im amazed! ISI is USA based and we Europeans have all the fun? LOLOL (there must be something you do wrong American guys )
The problem is there are a lot of sim racers in Europe and we Americans have to adjust our times to race with you guys if we want to get into full or near full grids
