it depends. If you run FullHD, you probably don't need MSAA. FXAA is enough.
Also MSAA affects FPS more while using greater resolutions.

So for high resolutions (per inch) and/or for high resolutions in overall (surround view) I would chose FXAA. Especialy in surround FXAA saves a lot of fps. For lower resolutions like 1280x720 I would rather use MSAA for better quality.

    Ok...

I`ve installed the 306.02`s and have to say, they`re much more stable for me than the other 300 series drivers. More fps too and rf2 is running quite nicely now.

However I`ve also noticed the strange "shadows" bug back again with these drivers... shadows are maxed out in game too.

Only had a quick test with the Megane and the BT20 at PB and Monza but strange black lines flowing along the armcos as you drive past them and funny black shadows in car too especially with the Megane`s.

Unless this would have anything to do with HDR being turned off?

Anyway after a very short test, in general the drivers seem good.

    @ buddhatree

I`m curious though... what do you mean by "real" AA and how does one use MSAA?

    :)

FXAA is "trick" feature from Nvidia. It's really designed to give less powerful cards something close to 4x MSAA (Multisample Anti-Aliasing) with less framerate hit. But at a cost to IQ imo.

To use real MSAA, simply disable FXAA and choose an AA level in "configure sim" on the launcher:

Those levels: 1,2,3, etc... They correspond, in order, to these AA levels in the NvCP:

So in rF2, level 1 is 2x MSAA, level 2 is 4x MSAA, level 3 is 8x CSAA, and so on... :)

Appreciate the rundown budd. Yeh that`s how I`ve been doing things (apart from having FXAA ticked in the rf2 config... lol)

Never knew for sure though that those numbers corresponded but I do now.

Btw... no pics showing here, just thought I`d say. :)

If you can't see the pics, it might be your security settings in your browser, or it might just be the browser you are using. Try a different one and see what you get.

@buddhatree: Silly question mate, but your Windows is not activated?

No I never activate because I reinstall every few months lol. I'm a little OCD about my installs I guess :p Every time I get a new piece of hardware, or if Windows isn't feeling so fresh, I do a fresh install.

They only give you a certain number of activations before you have to call a number and waste time on the phone... It got to be a real hassle and I'm always afraid they're going to think I'm installing on multiple machines... lol I'm really not! I'm just anal :D

I am also one to do a fresh install every now and then when things start acting a little strange. Though I must admit I have yet to run into an issue where they suggest that I purchase a new copy of Windows, and I have about 25 or so installs on my current copy. In fact, I deal with their computer system mostly as it sounds like a recording asking for the numbers and then reads back numbers, no option for questions from them or me. Takes less than 5 minutes to activate.

I do however understand where you would get tired of dealing with it after a while hehehe, I guess all the time I have spent on the phone when I ran my own computer store kind of softened me to the experience. :)

I also format two machines every few months. I use W7 though, not W8. I activate instantly every time and never have an issue. They probably get send your CPUID, etc, with each activation, so they probably know you are using it on the same machine. If I had to pull a number... I'd say I have activated W7 20+ times and never had to call.
