I started this topic by two reasons,

First, i'm on the edge of buying a new system and so i would like to have some real performance tests from various hardware system with this game

Second, i think that this would be a usefull topic to guys like me that are thinking in buy a new system and want to play this game specifically.

    System

    Q6600@3.4ghz
    6GB DDR2 961mhz
    HD 5870 1GB
    OCZ Agility 3 120GB
    Windows 7 X64

    Benchmark procedure

1- Use a replay that you can download here
2- Set cockpit camera to Ronald Lee (last car on grid)
3- Click play, turn on Fraps benchmark setting, click Enter to Go fullscreen
4- Let it finish near chicane on second lap and stop fraps.

Note: I used 1680x1050 because in our days i think that is a resolution that must of player can have

This seems a little pointless in all honesty. The game is in a state of Beta and so will constantly change each build as they add effects etc. Optimisation usually is one of the last things to be done, not to say they are not working now on optimising the sim as they possibly are but as said each build as they introduce new stuff will also introduce problems elsewhere that will need optimising itself. So while some will obviously have alot better performance than you now with better systems, doesn't mean once ISI start optimising you are not gonna see decent performance yourself.

Still just upgrading that CPU alone is gonna help you alot :) Oh and i would take the 680 over the 7970 everytime btw

That's not the point m8, I don't play only this game. Between GTX 680 and HD7970 in average the diference is not higher than 10% in most games but in Rf2 with all this post that we have seen since the beginning i think that the diference is huge, much more than 10% and that is what i would like to check because i'll buy one of them and i play rf2 too.

Btw i already play it with decent framerates and quality. Still thinking that this should give me much more but not bad at this point.

Just another point, i won't upgrade only GPU but also CPU.

My resolution in all game are 5040x1050 and in that scenery i prefer HD7970 because the 10% in favor to nvidia disapear when we increase resolution :)

Yes i agree and that's what i thought you were asking specifically for rF2. For rF2 and all my sims in general i get better IQ and performance than i have with AMD. I think right now nVidia is the best choice in terms of rF2, it does seem more optimised in general. Pretty sure though that Tim said somewhere they are working closely with AMD to get rF2 working right with their cards.

Yes i know you meant both a GPU and CPU upgrade but just the CPU upgrade alone will be a big boost. I remember moving from my QX9650 to an i7 and the difference was fairly impressive.

I assumed controlled by the game, if you notice he didn't use any AA, just FXAA.

I have one question, this open beta has crossfire /sli optimization??

    Because with x3 6950 2gb i still have problems with FPS´s,

    I have a Phenom II X4 3.6@4.0
    Triple Crossfire 6950 2gb
    Corsair Dominator 8gb dual channel 1.866@ 2ghz
    Asus Formula V
And the game was installed in a SSD Crucial M4.

I got fps drops... like in 1960´s mod... before the start of the race, my fps drops to 14!
Im concerned about that. This is something that will be fixed in the future?

With your recommended settings: Frames, 6804, Time (ms), 212925, Min, 21, Max, 49, Avg, 31.955

With both reflections off, AF @ 8X: Frames, 11008, Time (ms), 212879, Min, 30, Max, 84, Avg, 51.710

Environmental and road reflections make a big difference for me, and I really can't see much difference, especially when driving.

    Hello!
Launcher-Settings: 1920x1200, AA-Level 3, HDR On, FXAA Off, VSync Off
    Ingame-Settings: Everything maxed out

    Performance:
    Min: 69
    Avg: 82,367
    Max: 104

Normally I drive with VSync "Software" to get stable 60fps.

    dest1ny49

EDIT: Some values are not "Full" only "High", so "maxed out" is wrong !!!

I will post corrected values later in this thread.

Hardware: Core i7 3930K, 16GB RAM, Intel DX79TO Mainboard, EVGA GTX 680, Soundblaster Titanium Fatal1ty Soundcard, Intel SSD 520 (128GB) for Windows, WD Velociraptor WD-5000HHTZ (500GB) for Games, 24" EIZO-Monitor
    Software: Win7 Pro x64, nVidia 304.48, rFactor 0.90

Yeah! Wet conditions are looking beautiful in rF2.
And Sound is also great, there is even a "splash-sound" if you drive through water on the road.

The idea is to use the settings in the OP to try and get some sort of relative comparison rather than using your 'normal' settings.
