Apparently it doesn't since many people keep saying "no new content, focus on X". =P

I'm sure I wrote it once somewhere: while developing new content for engine which is also constantly under development - a needs of synchronizing changes may be required. So, must not be true that new content may be build in independent manner. Only if engine is finished such assumption may be set.

Maxym, keep in mind that content (car/track) creation proces is mostly about making 3d models. Assigning and setting up shaders' and materials' properties is something you usually do near the end of the whole process. Therefore, for most of the time it can be done on its own.

If mod testing reveals bugs in mod design - you can fix them and release the mod.
If it reveals bugs in game engine - you can release the mod with minor update to game engine.

It can be done and mod doesn't have to wait until next major update. In the end it's up to guys at ISI what they want to release and when, but it's not like it can only be done simultaneously.

that's why I used "may be". It's just a note against "there is no connection" between creating new content and developing engine in case of rF2. Maybe indeed those things are not connected, but it is possible that these are.
Maybe building new tracks, they developed some new features, then reworked released already content to make use of those but figured out some problems. There are more possibilities. At the end if fixing may take only a few days, they would want to fix it rather then releasing with next update. you never know.

It is true if you are using final ver of engine. but when engine is constantly improving, both departments must tightly cooperate with each other.

One has little/no affect on another. Different people build them.

Yes, we don't want the artist working on physics or engineering...this is what you get when that happens. ;)[IMG]

So release the unknown new content please. As the bug of the new build can be fixed anyway!

Now changing the subject, I was looking the gameplays of Asseto Corsa (I liked a lot of Netkar) and what I could notice is that the steering wheel is too static. This is what I like more in rF2. If you look ANY real life camera showing real steering wheel behavior at high speeds it is almost never static. It shakes, vibrates, pushes all the time with more or less intensity.
I like it too much in rF2 I cant stop thinking that this feature could be even more evident. This is straight related to the tire model, right? The more processing power could mean more fast rates of it...

    best regards!
