I thought I would post to let people know, that today I was racing with cpuz running and I noticed that my cpu was
going into idle state while gaming, my clocks are at 4.2ghz and I was shocked using a secondary screen to see sometimes my volts
would drop to 0.98 and the frequency was dropping from 4.2 down to 1.2 ghz omg no wonder my fps would drop so much and get stuttering, so into bios and disabled c3 and c6 idle state and eist funtion now my cpu run always at full speed and the fps stays much more constant, Im much happier, my average fps now sits around 175 :) settings all on full and fxaa

In addition to adjusting those settings in BIOS (including others not mentioned) the power options in the Windows control panel should also be set up properly for running performance applications (games).

Goes without saying on a sim tower more so overclocking.
All green and power you drive full manual through bios, not software control either.
Power settings are total alien to extreme O/Cers because they can affect stability and performance.

There is no reason not to do the same unless it is HTPC or for Pacman. lol

    Is CPU 0 the total?

Mine shows that cpu 4 and 6 are the only ones that are doing anything when I'm on rF2.

core 0 is the first core not the total on mine I have 8 and in rF2 it only uses 4 so I think the game does not use virtual cores

    C3 - Sleep

C6 - Is deepest power down, reduces processor voltage

    Bah to both ! :)

I looked up your motherboard manual, soz as I thought it only has most basic settings.
This is one of the downsides of cheaper boards often neglected.

With a board like below ( cheapest decent H61 I can find )
You have Ai tweaker, disable EIST, Turbo, EPU, voltage control, dram timing, etc.
These can be helpful even with a non 'K' Processor.
IE: You could set @3.8GHz and turn off turbo and EIST etc.

It might be the i7's hyper theading, I have no slow downs or stuttering on my i5 2500k and i have all the cool cpu declock etc. so i can't think its that. thats madness! my cpu stays at 4.7 when in rfactor 2 (but the cores are only be used 50-70% (depending whats going on) so i can only think its the hypertheading.
