improve the management of anti-alising

    stage 8 still looks too bad.
    2600K, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 570 / AMD 6970th
    AMD supersampling looks better, but is not playable.

    Still jaggy or unplayable if using supersample with a 7970.
