Thank you for the update and news:D

Tim, are you gonna make a thread for the request of circuits or just post it in the wishlist? Otherwise I will say I love to see modern Zandvoort for RF2. great track for multiple classes of racing:D

Great pics of Silverstone! Can't wait to see more of it!
Just one question regarding the track surface: Did you do laser scanning to get it right?

I thought ISI doesn't use laser scanning? I mean, the actual resolution of the track surface is low enough that you don't need laser scanning to "get it right" I think... It seems to me to be more of a bragging rights kind of thing to say that you used laser scanning to build the track.

EDIT: Not that I'd mind laser scanning ;)

Wish list works. I've probably already tried and am working on what most of what people want, but I always like to know whether I'm really, really wrong about something.

No, we do not laser scan for the retail product like rF2. We use tried and tested surveying techniques and verify it with other data. Although I do not believe laser scanning is a waste of time or anything, it is expensive, and it has a lifespan. A couple of hard winters, a corner resurface, or a track resurface, and your laser scanning was wasted.

For example, I surveyed LRP in about 6-8 hours.

Left is real (me in rental car), right is AI. The track surface itself moves very accurately.

Model excellent. Lighting work, flat вё isn't pleasant, the space and volume isn't felt. I don't know as correctly to pick up the word. As opaque materials. On a distance of color have to be more more pale and less contrast. Extension of shadows and penumbras. I don't know as to explain...

Tim, that is a great comparison video. One question: I noticed even with similar lighting that the position of the sun is not the same between the two videos. Is the position of the sun accurate to the tracks or will this be introduced?

Not that i think your tracks are bad , Lime Rock shows us how good you guys are in track development/creating.
But doesn't count your argument for every kind of data collection? When Lime Rock add some new Curbs here or lift some bumps there or anything else your track is also off and outdated - laser scanned or not.

Anyway, on some (old) preview shots there was an Oval Track with Road Course. What happend to him? I mean will it ever come in near or far future?
    Edit: that shot: http://rfactor.net/web/rf2/screens2...621451492_117738571610397_130150_3710330_n-2/

You aren't taking the whole argument, as I mentioned cost. The cost of a second, third, fourth trip to laser scan the same facility is astronomical. I don't think ISI, or you the consumer, want to foot that bill. You'd probably be racing an old version of the track for quite some time before the logistics to even plan the trip were thought out. Just the insurance on some of that equipment is 5-figures a year. Unless of course, you're going to cheat and just reference the changed section without laser scanning. :)

The oval is still in the back catalogue. Like how the C6R was before eventually brushed up and released.
