Will there be an option to adjust view distance? or Am i missing it completely? I think it could help with some of us FPS strugglers. I like eye candy but cant always have it running beyond 15 fps Great Sim so far guys!
Regarding view distance, is a short view distance responsible for the light coloured patch on the road ahead of you? I noticed it in the early WIP of spa that was shown and it is still present in the beta although not as bad.
I remember having a few games like ArmaII and Op Flashpoint being very sluggish on my old PC so I had all options on MAX and set view distance to quite close. Its used a fog of war to limit the distance but improved FPS a hell of a lot. I know I can live without seeing Eue Rouge (including minute cars) on the way up to the hairpin. (TV cam) Put a bit of fog in and let lesser "rigs" have some eye candy I know, stop being a skinflint and update your PC FYI Specs are AMD Phenom 9950 Quad 2.60 GHz 4 GB ram Win 7 Ultimate 2x Radeon HD4650 1gb ram total.
Oh right Well in that case they better do a better job with the effect as it looks like some sort of texture error
Hopefully they'll indeed upgrade the effect at some point, when driving in real life you can often see them in more isolated "puddles" that really look like water until you get close enough. Would add a bit of variety to them. =)
Yes, the effect looks more like a mist. It would be great if it could be tweaked. As is it does not look realistic.
yes, i'm also struggling to see far enough ahead at spa, graphics are max'ed, i'm wondering if it could be graphs settings outside rfactor, i'm using nvidia everything.
ISI should add simple draw distance sliders to graphics options menu. One for main view and another for rear view mirrors.
in low fov on monaco I can actually see everything spawn in a few hundred feet in front of me. Very distracting and annoying.
that is strange because i can see all the way down the straights so view distance is not a problem here?
My GFX are on minimum and I can see fine on Spa. Maybe it's an 'effect' thats turned on when you have high GFX settings?
Here.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzpILNg4ilc Go to about 1:15 seconds as I ascend the hill in Monaco you can see street lights and crowds appear at the very end of the road.
Yes that is the mirage effect. OP: draw distance sliders I haven't yet heard mentioned, but I'll mention it...
Yes it was my full intent. I am curious if any progress or consideration is being given. I didn't drop $1500 in GFX for limitations.
