Hi everyone. Sorry for my english, it´s not very good.

I have a problem with rF2 and I think ISI has to solve it.
There is a lot of simdrivers driven with 3 monitors and the cockpit view. In rF1, we modified some lines (// cockpit block) in .GEN file and we see in game only the suspension arms and wheels. And there was no mismatch in online.

Now, in rF2 i can't do this. If I have to open the .Mas file, modify .GEN and compress .MAS again, I don´t have the same "signature" in the new one .MAS file. And if I go to online, I have mismatch now.

My explanation is very poor, but I think you understand it, didn't you?.

Can you fix it?. It´s a big problem.

    Thanks for all.

If we take a Megane as example, my three screens make a good windscreen view, my symprojects rev burner and gear indicator provide the dash which sits below the screens visible through the steering wheel. Like a real dash so not arcade :)

The example above is a similar approach for open wheel cars.

But in a real racing car you sit low and see the car body around you and so cockpit is realistic and all other arcade. Sorry man but that's true

I sit in a race seat on the floor! My three 22" screens are still a letterbox view compared with what I see in a real race car. I choose to have that view sitting level with the top of my wheel so I see the forward view. Seeing a cockpit above my wheel breaks that immersion. It isn't arcade at all, I would see a lot more sat in a real car.

I believe this is a genuine request, and I have seen amateur cockpits like the RedBull one... So I will ask.

The Redbull simulator has the visible parts of the car's body forming the cockpit though. =)

    Tim

-brill thanks for listening/replying, a couple of options along this line would be very useful to accommodate diferent types of simrigs / people's preferences

Whilst the team are working on it :
    - wheels&suspension only (as already requested etc)
    - wheels&suspesion&nose
    - wheels&suspesion&Cockpit but not inner cockpit I.e no rev lights or tubes or anything like that ( for those that have f1 style wheels with rev lights etc already on) -see the redbul vid for example

In the process of a redesign of my rig and these options would be of great value

(I thought it could be done with camera options but maybe not , also I feared the camera options could screw up the fov etc as well)

Think that will cover everything then -thanks

^lol, i see how i failed at a little lighthearted sarcasm. I was trying to show SimonV6 that even the real guys use this "arcade" view.

I am all in favor of the "just wheels" cockpit view. :p

I also think that people with these types of setups are a bunch of luck sob's! ;)

I wonder how long it'll take to recoup the costs by charging people per go. :D

Hey, nothing wrong with just tyres showing, assuming the home cockpit is designed around that concept. With tin-tops though you shouldn't really even show the wheels. =)

I don't think you got me still. :p

I've already been in complete agreement with all you've just said mate. My remarks were meant as jokes towards SimonV6 about the supposed "arcade" nature of having the wheels only view in that open wheeler driven by ernespeed. Ofc it really depends on a mix of your home cockpit setup and the car type.

Yeah yeah, I got your jokes, I just didn't react to them because there are also real issues afoot! =)

What's the difference apart from the obvious fact that red bull are using an ex-f1 cockpit and ernespeed's is not?

Not much, ernespeed has a cockpit that is suitable for this sort of thing, being so complete. However frankly if he were to position everything like it should be, the on-screen cockpit would be covered by his own cockpit anyway, so it's a somewhat moot point.

Still, not a bad option to include at some point.

Amazed you can not see difference? Racers that don't sit in a cockpit or use cockpit view get a much better view of the track than real life and therefore arcade? Its not rocket science mate lol ;-)
