I am curious to see how many of the beta adopters use 3 screens for racing. If you could post your computer specs and settings along with FPS results from the beta it might be helpful for some of us struggling with performance. I know the game isn't even close to optimized for 3 screens, but I think there are more and more drivers moving to three screens no as you can get a setup pretty cheap compared to 5 years ago. I know I got built a pretty good machine, bought three 24" ASUS monitors and bought a very nice triple monitor mount for about 40% less than I spent on my previous computer by itself My Specs: X3 ASUS 24" LCD i5 2500k @ 4.2Ghz MSI A65 Z68 Motherboard 16gb Ram Powercolor PCS+ 6970 2GB running Eyefinity 11.12 Catalyst Drivers Samsung 830 120 GB SSD T500 wheel and Fanatec Clubsport Pedals I will have to double check all of these settings when I get home, this is from memory: 5950x1080 resoultion 8x AA 8x AF rf2 Settings: HDR - on Sun Occlusion - off Track Refections - off Shadows - med Shadow Blur - off Everything else on High 20 cars viewable 8 Sounds I am getting about 40fps average at most tracks, but I do have a lot of stuttering and dips into the 20's on certain tracks. Overall image quality is pretty poor, with AA not really looking very good at all. I am getting a lot of shadow flicker as well. I tried super-sampling turned on but could not get over 21fps with it on. Like I said I will update this properly when I get home. For the hell of it, you can post a picture of your triple screen setup if you want. I always like seeing what other people have come up with. Here is a picture of my WIP setup
yip triple screen has spoiled me too, couldn't go back to just one no mater how big. using softTH on an eyefinity system (no eyefinity mismatch monitors), two 18.5" and one 17" monitor. specs: windows 7 AMD phenom II x4 3.20GHz 3.25GB (6GB installed but using 32bit for meantime) AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series 1GB 5.1 audio at mostly medium settings, runs well unfortunately when using softTH Bessel correction i cant see the fps gauge, it cuts it off. once i find out how to move the fps gauge or find another way of checking it out, I will see if i can get better preformance by playing about with softTH making the side screens 16bit or limiting their fps etc. View attachment 513 screens aren't that bright just my camera
Yes i went to 3 screens in October - HP 20inch LED's 2500K 4.8Ghz 8GB Corsair Vengence HD6970 2Gb Everything on at 4320x960 i get 45ish fps with no vsync. Fanatec GT3RS
AMD X6 T1090 @ 3,2 GHz 6970 2GB GA MB, 8 Gigs Ram 5670x1080 CCC Settings -> all to application RF2 4 AA (doesn´t make a difference what number I use) everything to high no HDR no Reflections ----> 60-110 fps for a good loooking image have to use SS, no way to play with 30 fps and stuttering
i5 @4.5 6970 2GB 5930x1080 ccc settings all application rf2 AA 2, same as other poster, no settings change FPS circuit full texture detail full text filter x8 anistropic no hdr no reflection no wind crowd motion all else medium f1 race min 31, max 72, avg 53 same without other cars min 41, max 84, avg 60 I guess it could go a few higher as I had the wheel turned on which I thought I had it off. I have also had good success with multiview but the min frames drop to 20 at the start of the race. View attachment 519
Hmm...I wonder if I have something else going on causing problems..... I am assuming you guys are using 11.12 drivers?
11.10 for me, I find it hard to go from a driver that works to another as they are hit and miss sometimes.
same here, but I had heard from others that the newer drivers provided a bit of a performance boost. I was on 11.10 until yesterday and I can't tell the difference.
Are you meaning Super Sampling? I ain't getting 60-110 in the Meganes behind 21 cars at Portugal. I get from 38-65. I won't to turn off the awful looking exhaust heat effect behind all the cars. Looks fake and I bet it is taking up some fps. Anyone know how? CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.8GHz Motherboard: Asus M4A88TD-V EVO 880G Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 12GB DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Video: PowerColor PCS+ HD 6970 2GB PSU: Corsair Enthusiast Series 650TX 80 PLUS Hard Drives: 2x WD Caviar Black 500GB & 1x 2TB Storage OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Wheel: Logitech G27 Monitors: Eyefinity w/ 1- Samsung 23" & 2- Acer 23" Mini DisplayPort Adapter: Accell B087B-006B Cockpit: Obutto oZone w/ Triple Monitor Adapter Try to post a pick of my rig later.
Noticed there are no Nvidia triple screen setups working in this topic yet. Like myself i can't get Rf2 to work with 3 screens tho i have tried lots of different setting combos but i manily think it won't work for us Nvidia users as i think its an SLI issue. Lucky you guys and some nice setups you have. Enjoy
Yeah, you have something going on there. Our specs are similar except for my i5 @4.5 but there is no way I can get 60-110 if they are your min and max.
just to be clear, thats when I´m alone at the track. With AI the result is different That frame issue is not what annoys me that hard, but the ****ty AA ! I hate it ! I can´t run SS(SuperSampling) because of the performance hit. It must be possible to get good results without SS. Like iRacing or EgoShoters or whatever aarrrghhh.... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion: ATI : no AA nVidia: no TripleScreen
I wish we could all come up with a certain test track and car and 1. behind __ # cars, __# cars on track __ # cars visible, etc.... I like quickly getting in a Megane, going to Portugal and I use: 20 AI, 15 cars viewable, and start in last place (21st). I would GLADLY change all these if we would just stick to the same thing. Wish there was a built in benchmark like Dirt 2, 3, and F1 2010. That would pretty much be a great indicator of comparisons.
My AA doesnt work at all, at any level and because I wear glasses and know the difference between having my glasses on and off it's the same with blurry stuff in RF with no AA. My eyes strain a bit trying to focus as they must think it's out of focus, I am sure if AA was going I would not have that problem. There has been talk about stutters etc. I am not sure what it is to different people. Mine is not smooth, it certainly doesnt feel like 60+ frames when I am going down a straight and I can see stuff like the overhead signage creep up, not smoothly but jumping bit by bit. Very distracting.
On my setup, the blurry look seems to be the awful looking exhaust heat simulation behind all the other cars. I really wont to find how to cut that off. I bet we would get more performance.
