Since installing rf2 I've not been at all impressed....looks good but doesn't work anywhere as good as rf1. Today I went online for the first time and now know it's not working properly. Other drivers were flying past me on track as if I out on a Sunday drive... Exiting the last bend @ Portugal onto the straight I was doing 129mph and a car flew past me...I watch the replay from onboard cockpit view the car that past me was doing 128mph when he was along side me and he looked like he was going 50mph faster. Other cars also looked like they were handling 100x better, mine feels like it's on ice. It's like I've installed the granny versions of the mods. I did a complete reinstall which hasn't changed anything. I'm not having any issues with other games Phenom 9600 quad core 8 gig ram GTX 560ti (overclocked from Asus) Vista 32 onboard sound Anyone got any ideas?
No, it sounds like your physics feel out of real time. Not sure what type of controller you had, but check this this thread in FAQS--might offer you some help: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/1522-Software-is-jerky-falls-out-of-realtime-CPU-is-100
I remember that I had similar issue with rF. Back then it was disabled hardware plugins, try to check that (ctrl + g ingame)
is it like Stuttering? if so see here: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/1680-Framerate-Stuttering the Fix worked for me
@ Tim...I already looked If I'm on my own it all runs smooth, just feels rubbish. With other people on the server it's also smooth just my car is nowhere as fast as other cars. I'll test the plugins later. Thanks for your replies. Edit update: plugin thingy didn't seem to work.
hey, i have exactly the same issues like grimdad. On Single Player everything is fine but on a server with more than ten cars, the problem occurs nearly every second lap. From one second to an other my screen goes to slowmotion and the other cars easaly can pass me. it really sounds like the problem tim posted (app feel out of realtime), but the tweak wich should fix it just does nothing. I Set "Skip updates" to "1". But the problem is still there. A working workaround to fix this would be very nice!
Your issue doesn't sound the same as mine.... I've just had a team m8 of mine follow me round Estoril in a megane...I was driving flat out and he was following me in 2nd gear. I was sliding round corners and he was cruising round. On or offline it feels the same...EVERY LAP
So we need to figure this out guys, please stick around so we can do so. I'll point a dev here, in the meantime can you either post your system specs or make sure they are in your profiles. Also please state wheels, pedals, etc.
Identical problem that i had on first time i ran RF2, first i lowered resolution as low as 1280x960 where it worked better until i found a thread for "Skip updates = 1" that fixed it for me. Using Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel.
hi, first time i post, have been following this forum very closely since the begging of the year. First of all, thank you to ISI for releasing rf2 beta. I am really looking forward to the progress of the game. i post here because i have the same issues as GrimDad. Very inconvinient(?) stuttering. Like sometimes it is ok, then the next 3 secs i slow down visually and next 2 sec i speed up again and this repeats. the purple bar under fps has a vertical purple line most of the time in the right side. and i think only when it stutters. lowering graphics both in nvidia (ie. max pre-rendered frame) and in the game has helped a little bit. now it is not as frequent and the duration of stutters is better. I have also tried MarcG's proposed help in the plr file (flush previous frame). finally i have also tried the "skip updates" option in the crontroller.ini. i dont know if it is only a placebo but it might have helped a bit. but it is still not enjoyable. every setting is low or off exept for player car=full. Racing against AI is worst, the cars are moving around like a bad multiplayer game. floating in horizontal/vertical on the road. impossible to pass. i mostly test with only my car on track and still stutters. My pc is not the newest, could need upgrading, but since rfactor1 runs smooth (most of the time) i felt it not needed yet. but with rfactor 2 i might begin to save money! I race with black momo and have had some minor issues with the ffb, not as violent as the g25 and g27, but by setting steering torque filter to 3 have helped. it is not perfect, but drivable ffb. but even fiddling with ffb wont stop stuttering. My specs are: intel core 2quad cpu q8300 @ 2.50ghz 2.50ghz ram 6gb geforce 9800gtx/gtx+ windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. hope the info is right, don't know much about pcs tbh. other than that, i really like rf2 beta so far EDIT: Forgot to mention how many fps i get. i am around 50-60, sometimes 80 fps (screen is 75hz) and quite constant. but stutter still occurs.
I have the same slowdowns Doesnt mather witch graphic settings iam useing, the most time have got this nasty max pain effect driving 230kph in 6th gear with the megane and all others overtaking me like iam parking. Most it comes from nothing one time per every round for about 1 minute... Undriveable My high-end specs: Acer ASPIRE 5542G Notebook Athlon X2 M300 2,0 GHz ATI Mobility radeon 4570 4GB ram Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit Thrutmaster Firestorm dual analog 2 gamepad *lol*
THAT, exactly describes my issue. the purple bar jumps to the right when the slowmo begins. Said it before: Set "Skip Updates" to "1", "2" or "3" doenst help. Here are my specs, not really high end, but i think still competetive: Phenom II x4 940 @ 4x 3,0 ghz Sapphire HD5850, 1 gig RAM 4 gig System-RAM G25 Wheel, with Clubsport Pedals Windows 7 64bit need something more?
I had this a few times where all of a sudden the car goes into slowmo with my Logitech MOMO Racing, not had it so far tonight with my new Fanatec 911 GT3 RS V2 CSR wheel.
System Specs Hi Tim, I don't have a wheel yet. I am using the keyboard of the computer. Here are my specs: Phenom II x4 940 3,0 ghz 4GB RAM WIN7 64-BIT ATI RADEON HD 5700 Series Thanks
