Must be a glitch caused by the commerce server overload. You could try reactivating ... once everything has settled down! That might reset it. Or you could try logging in again on the main page of the Launcher. If not, then some divine intervention by Gjon may be required ...
You have to login for multiplayer to see your name in single player. If you dont, you will be unknown.
Hi. I have the same issue. I tried to login multiple times already and I still appear as "Unknown" either in single or multiplayer. I also tried reactivatiing rFactor 2 - didn't help. Cheers
didn't worked for me either, tried twice and nothing... It is strange because when i make the login, it shows welcome "my name", but everytime i get on the server it keep on showing the "Unknow"...
Problem was solved here, don't know exactly why, just logged out, turned off the launcher, and the next time i logged in my name was there, so probably you just need to wait and sometime it will be solved...
I'm "Unknown" everywhere. I've restarted the launcher, re-activated rFactor 2, and even restarted my computer. I've edited my name in the PLR file, and the game edits it right back to "Unknown"-- though it does state my name in welcome when I log in to multiplayer. I had a glitch with credit card payment, then paid with PayPal, and thus have two transaction numbers. Could that be the issue? Edit: Oh, yeah, I did the appdata change mentioned elsewhere, as well. I even ran the game with admin privileges. No deal. The appdata change was ignored, and the PLR file was overwritten-- even though I marked that file as read only as well.
@Traveller - i doubt it, I had a successful payment in the first shot.. but still have this problem. I will do a clean install on my rig later on. Hopefully it should solve the problem
same here... by the way to ISI staff: could a button be implemented in the forum, that just says "same problem here"...would be easier to evaluate wich problems most people have...
same here, offline = "unkown player", no possibility to add or change a new player ingame Sorry, but there are missing basic game functions, it´s not a beta, its a pre-Alpha
As mentioned in this thread, checking "Remember" in the on-line log-in dialog will solve the "Unknown" issue-- both on-line and off. It is what finally worked for me. A check of the .rfactor app data folder shows a .credentials file now exists, when it didn't before.
