Can't send you a PM, FONismo, so I'll post it here:

Check out if pit exit is in place and if rolling starts work properly. These were errors we found with rF1 version - we had 2 races on this track and both had rolling starts, so we needed to fix it ourselves.

Two common problems with rF1 tracks were having teleport locations too close to start/finish line and having pace car starting location too far from the leader - this caused rFactor to handle out lots of EOLL penalties for not being close enough to pace car before we even started to roll. A grid messed up like this could never get rolling start to work.

First time it happened to us at Nogaro - I didn't know that kind of issue before, but luckily I managed to figure out the cause during formation lap while driving :) I was even more lucky to be in front row there, so I held off rest of the grid on formation lap and that gave all of us EOLL. This way I put actual leader back in P1 - we caught up with him and race got started :) Sometimes league admin has to solve problems while behind the wheel it seems :)

Episode two !! spa - presented in the style of a 1960s British commentator.

    @Spinelli

I have tried to incorporate some of those ideas into this video still far off from perfect , If the videos are popular then I will spend more time on them :) ! ( still need to learn some driver names ! :p )

    Great job James. =)

The only problem is that the commentary is slightly ahead of the footage though. =)

Great voice James and great running commentry, is it scripted or made up spur of moment? Do you use any voice filters?
Get good with that free camera mode, get some nice car views, mix it up and your set mate.

I record myself doing a lap with fraps then record commentary whilst watching the video , with this one I did the French bit and the part before the race start as separate recordings.

For the voice filters I use FL studio with lower end EQUO filtered off then I use a Self oscillating lowpass + standard lowpass + lowpass with wave shaping , I then use automation clips to add some variation and distortion to those filters.

"Get good with that free camera mode, get some nice car views, mix it up and your set mate"

I will look at doing that with future videos !

The was awesome James! I want to go play rF2 now :)

EDIT: btw James, I use FL studio myself :) you can find my music under the same name here at soundcloud.com, with a DJ in front ;) I have much to learn with FL even after 5 yrs of use. One thing that might help you further with voice equality is using the Multiband compressor mixer and tuning it's lowpass filter from there. I don't know if you use the voice recording by itself or with the game volume together. If you use the audio and voice in FL studio together, the Multiband compressor will even out the lows and mids of the game volume with the high's of the voice, potentially giving you a more audible voice, whilst still keeping that 60's radio feel.

idk if that would help, just thinking out loud :)

Thanks ouwe! My driving line is better now after the video, but still I'm nowhere close to a competitive lap time :(
As soon as I get that 'hairpin-like' turn that's tricky I should shave about a second off, but still will be far from good online competition...

It really amazes me how good the in-car lighting looks in this game. It's REALLY good I think !

I love how the first bit was black and white on the small tv screen and then you went to colour and full screen, for the rest of the video, I thought that was way better than just choosing one or the other, awesome job man!

Out of curiousity does anyone know if the races were aired in black and white back then or was it that sort of faded colour look that was starting to come out?

Some were black and white, others had colour. Nords for example was a color broadcast.
