    Thank you Scott :)

EDIT: Scott, just one more thing. On the slo-mo video I can't see any lateral tire deformation on these cars. It was turned off on purpose or it's just not there yet (visual effect - I guess physics for lateral deformation are already there? )? Will it be in the open beta?

Yo, just woke up, went to my pc and was hit by that video. You really have a feel for those things that have been missed over the years in simracing. Really like the visual effect. No more wood tires.

Thank you guys, merry christmas and some well deserved holidays. You do a great job.

One word on the tire deformations: Incredible!

That was simply mouth watering viewing, having watched a lot of V8Supercars when they have their Wheel Cams its so life like in this video its untrue!! Superb work ISI

The tire effects on tarmac looked great, nicely done. I wasn’t as impressed with soft surfaces though.

The suspension action was one thing I didn’t like with rF1, and it looks about the same with the current beta. There seems to be not enough rebound travel but hopefully there will be some improvements with the suspension in rF2.

Looking forward to the beta. Keep up the good work and enjoy the holidays!

    This.

    And this.

Though visual deforming of any kind obviously isn't necessary to create great physics that simulate it I thought it was striking that there was no lateral flex. Or at least it appeared to be missing. Not that I'll be watching my tyres while driving, but for replays it's a nice little detail.

Great videos though, can't wait to get my hands on the beta. :D

I suddenly realised my comment made me look like a bit of a sourpuss. Which I'm not. :b

Hi, looks great so far, a lot of very detailed trackside Objects (saw the guy who followed the car) :)
Car behaviour looks believable, good sense of speed on that Spa Video, i like the cockpit vibration.

Missed a bit tire deformation in latheral direction, and the Driveshafts on that Historic formula car at the end of Video one.
    But maybe it´s a FWD car. :D

    Merry Christmas to all !

like I said - there is no lateral distortion of tires, only the vertical ...
    I'm disappointed already at 50% ...
    Merry holidays to you.

I do not argue ... but I was hoping and to lateral distortion and tires

Me too, but it is still possible that it will be in the future. Maybe it is already but was turned off at that time?

    We will se.

When I do simple maths that is 50% more happy then most games, because most games have solid tyres alltogether ;) 50% disappointed in rF2, 100% disappointed in most other games, rF2 must be doing something right then :p

Considering that long-term project, it will all be arriving very slowly and for a long time. And not the fact that it would be. Really, I was upset ...
Here is an example of how tires should work.

That vid almost makes me cry every time I see it.
LFS has such potential and after nKP it's the one I enjoyed the most. The weight of the cars just feels so real. And the gearboxes are all there. And proper turbo simulation. Sadly it will probably drown in this wave of next generation sims coming out next year. Or maybe they'll surprise us with something, I hope, but don't expect, I hope.
Either way we will never forget it. That three guys were dedicated to making something the way they believed it should be.

    *violin music*

Sorry, my friends don't call me drama queen for nothing.

Physics-wise, yes, there is lateral deformation--the tire model accounts for it. I'm not sure of the current state of that (eg. working but not displayed visually; in but disabled due to a bug; etc). I can't get you a final answer until everyone is back in the office. Finishing up the tire model is VERY high on the list, so if it's disabled right now for some reason it will be "soon".

Thank you Scott! Good news :) The fact that tire model simulates it is enough for me, even if is or might be disabled temporary (visual representation of it) :)

Just thinking out loud... what about longitudinal deformation? Not implemented and won't be, not yet but will be or... already is, but not ready yet (physically and/or visually)? :D
