Just an FYI for folks, too. I will be in the UK from Dec 19th to 5th Jan, I will have a gaming laptop but it isn't the same as using my desktop obviously. I'm planning on trying to catch up with some PMs on here today and will see if I have any time before I leave.
Note to Staff: Don't ruin your Christmas.. chillax and have a great holliday and get back to development when u're well rested. I know how it is when you work on something with no real brakes, you get blind after a while and a project like this need fresh eyes from time to time. so taking time off and just focus on something else for a while is a GOOD thing for the end-product. end of note.
and whether it will be implemented movable rear wing, in accordance with the rules of F1 for the coming season?
It'll be ready when it's ready people. Personally I'd much rather have a bug free product in 6 months time than a buggy release in a month.
do not overdo it with these six months, after release the game does not necessarily mean the end of the work on it, so I can take such trifles at a later time, in my opinion of course
I think the general consensus here is to all staff; take a good Christmas holiday break. You guys need it. And to everyone else too, take a break aswell! We all need it!
The lack of recent news is really quite annoying because it keeps feeding the hype train. I would love to see a new screenshot or something later this week.
Actually there are so many new mods for rF1 they may have just said screw it. Or maybe they are reading through my Wishlist thread and realized they haven't implemented ANYTHING.
That's why most companies don't share anything from their game development with community. As long as you don't tell people anything, you're free to develop your game any way you want. you can change your mind many times, give up on something, start working on something new, change expected release date, etc. Once you tell people what you're working on and what are your current plans, they will take your word for it and from then on - your hands are tied. If you decide to change something you will hear lots of complains. I agree with just one thing - once you start sharing WIP material with community, it should be continued at more less regular basis, because there's no going back to being quiet. Sharing WIP material is at risk of negative community reaction, but being quiet makes people suspicious and negative which I believe is even worse.
In my opinion, with all due respect to the ISI should be done first as best as possible the physics and dynamic weather and the road. And some waving flags or hot air at a later time, as a supplement to, or at all. Rather, the race is not see in the audience or the bleachers, or just something cool flag flutters, /
We were promised new previews before xmas, its now February. Not even a hint at a release date and the ISI team and PR guy seem to have disappeared
