Hello! Before I decide to re-install rF2 (which I never did!), I would like to understand why since the Q4 2022 update, rF2 doesn't respond anymore when I run a solo track once every less than ten times, it's quite random, whatever the track, whatever the car. I wait a long time and it's dead. I relaunch and the track loads well at the previous selection when it didn't launch... Online, at the BTCC race, I had rF2 not responding between each run, I had to restart rF2... No problems during the race, it runs like a charm! I have GF1080ti X3 11gb, 16Mo RAM and Intel Core i7-3770K. I attach the pictures to understand...
Did you get an empty grey/black screen instead of the track loading screen when RF2 freezes? I have a similar issue since some time...
ok, then it seems we have the same problem. I could not exactly say since when but Q4 update is possible. Happens now and then but not reproduceable so far... NV 3090 FE here, so no AMD problem
This is exactly what I've been getting too after the latest update. It does not happen often for me lucky. The game stops loading the track before the track map picture should appear and I need to kill rFactor2. GTX1070 card.
I have no idea about the cause, but only to suggest the tried and true baby steps to see if the problem can be fixed. 1st in Windows, rename your USERDATA folder 2nd in .Steam, Verify your files.
@Manfredk2 @DJCruicky So there are 3 of us with this problem. @davehenrie 2nd in .Steam, Check your files. Already tried. But didn't try to rename the USERDATA folder, I'll try. I reinstalled but put the USERDATA folder back, it did nothing...
did YOU move the userdata folder back in, or did you let rF2 rebuild a fresh one?(sorry, just clarifying) If the problem was within the old UserData folder, then moving it back yourself would only recreate the issue.
It worked! I don't have that loading bug anymore. I just put my player.JSON, Controllers.JSON and Config_DX11 files in the new USERDATA. Thank you very much @davehenrie
Hi, can you confirm this really fixed it for you? I'm having the same issue, but it doesn't fix mine.
What video card do you have? how much memory? Have you tried both the Release Candidate and the NONE option in the Beta tab? Did you Verify File integrity in Steam after changing to or from the Release Candidate?
video card is an RTX 3080 Eagle OC 10GB. i'm in the release candidate option in the beta... didn't try the NONE option since i was looking to race in the new online system. yes, verified integrity several times... also, this issue was already happening before switching to the beta. that line reads: "WebUI port":5397,
Hi, I've changed my PC and I don't have this problem any more. Before with old PC, I thought it had solved the problem, but in fact, long afterwards, it came back, I never understood it.
Did you change hardware, too? And did you re-install Windows? Or changed from Win 10 to 11? What about the rf2 installation (new, copied)? Most of the times when I encounter such problems I am going to delete cbash and shaders folder (the "caching" folders) and it solves it.
