Hi, sorry if this has been answered in a previous thread, but I've tried for about six months to a year, and no matter what I've tried so far, whenever the AI for my cars get up to speed (in my case, approx 125 mph), they start weaving back and forth, which almost always culminates with a giant flip/wreckfest between them. I remember in rFactor 1, there was a really nifty option, AITorqueStab, that would help with that, but I have yet to find rF2's answer to that. Anybody know what the problem is, or have any tips for the AI's turning stability when making a mod?
That sounds as if there is something fundamentally wrong with the Physics. What Cars are that and how did you create the Physics?
My dirt late models, converted with your site. The HDV that came from the site crashed, so I copy-pasted everything from it to my Skip Barber-based rFactor 2 hdv.
If you want, you could send me the rFactor 1 Version of one of your Cars, that behaves like described in the opening Post, by Mail. I could take a look at it and check what could be wrong. To mix Physics is never a good Idea. You can use the Mail Adress chris_rf ('X ADD X') gmx.de (must be reformatted a little bit )
How much do you want? The entire rFactor 1 mod? Both rFactor 1 and 2 mods? The models included, or just the text files (gen, hdv, etc)?
The best would be: 1 drivable Car with the bad Behaviour in rF2 Format + the unedited rFactor 1 HDV, PM and TBC.
The AI is broken at the moment, as are engines converted from rFactor 1. You should roll back to version 1132.
The old engine format was fixed with the last update. As for AI issues, there are some current issues being worked on and soon to be patched, but how you can decide that's what this is without even seeing them or the files... well, you're just looking for negatives.
I retried the conversion on his site, and figured out what was making it crash to desktop. I deleted and modified them, the AI is a little better, still pretty loose, but this is dirt and I want them somewhat loose. I noticed the BrakeTorqueAI parameter. It's set lower than BrakeTorque. I wonder how that can help the AI's braking and overall speed. Anyways, back to the drawing board.
Didn't you get the Files 4 (Test Car with new, from rF1 Files (i had to modify the PM a little bit) converted HDV and Chassis.ini and edited Upgrades.ini (to avoid the Crashes)), that i did send you by Mail?
I tried them, they didn't really work, but thanks to the insight you gave me over here, I was able to figure it out and make the AI more stable, learning about more parameters in the HDV and how they differ in rF2, that I couldn't have on my own. I'm also glad you pointed out the old engine format is fixed.
As written in the Mail, the Files are the Conversions, based on the original HDV and almost original PM, that you can load them in DevMode without crashing. Everything else has to be adjusted now. Just a Recommendation: clean the Folder, that you have only 1 Set of Physics Files, to start from. You currently have so many Files in there, with almost identical Names or from other Cars.... that it can easily happen that you edit a wrong one.
