Just this week I watched a video on the Indy 500 and the cars/drivers of the 1970's. This was the time I was first exposed to racing on TV & magazines. Can you craft the dihedral winged Vels-Parnelli shown in the first few seconds of this video? (from 8 to 11 seconds....right at the beginning)

I just saw that car on Monday when I had the RV serviced in Scottdale AZ.
Penske Museum is across the street from the MB dealer. Penske's dealers on that corner includes Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Austin, Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW and Porsche. Took a Taycan AWD for a test drive. Sweet.
    Anyway here's a shot.
I forgot to mention; I saw this car win at Indy in 1972, last year my dad took me to Indy.

The wierd part of that history, is that all three drivers HATED the V wing. So for that season they took off the angled wings and put a huge rear wing on the back. But NOW, all the cars have been restored to the original configuration.

Yes !, amazing Chief, 70's Indy cars like this McLaren, Foyts 73' Coyote, the Parnelli VPJ's, now need a period correct version of Indy, rF2's been needing vintage Indy, with cars to go with it.

Don't forget the Gurney Eagles or, the turbine cars. In these days of spec series, those memories are grand. Cosworth V8 vs Offenhauser tractor motor.

If there is going to be a 70s Indycar, I would have to think that making it a separate mod would be the way to go. Because as mentioned, there isn't a lot of upgrade spots available.

My personal opinion would be to see if permission would be granted to convert the ISO 1974 and 1978 AMS mods. They are the same team the did the 1988 and 1987 CART mods for AMS. All of their mods are full season, full livery from race to race mods. If 70s Indycar Style mod would happen, both of the mods could be used as reference for the parts.

Thank You Chief, fantastic mod! Really like the new parts. By the way, will there be an updated template?
