After some tests, the slip stream effect is gone. For now on the GTE and GT3, I don't know if other cars are involved. Let me hear, we want the slip stream back.
as long as the changes are realistic then only, but judging by aero model of rf2 and how s397 use it , it will never even reach acceptable state.

There is still slipstream but not so exaggerated or unrealistically like before with much to easy overtaking. Whenever I saw real Lemans races or Gt3 on the Nordschleife Döttinger Höhe and how difficult it was for the drivers to overtake, I thought that in rfactor2 it is way too over easy due to the way too strong slipstream. Currently, you also gain some advantage in the slipstream, if you pay close attention to it and please keep it that way.
I think you can test slipstream with simhub or other program that can show you the shared memory api. There is a "drag" value. It increases with high speed, but not as much if you are in a slipstream. Unfortunately the value is not visible on RSR GTE (likewise the the temp etc) but its possible the value are on other GTE and GT3 cars. you can see the "drag" value in this video.
On that, You are also welcome to test it for yourself. The fact is, you gain a few km/h in the slipstream, and if you compare that with real races on the long straights, it fits. Whether you gain 3, 4 or 5 km/h in real life, I can't judge, but the real extremely close slipstream duels of the Gt cars on Lemans, where overtaking attempts often failed, reflect the current behavior in rFactor2 very well.
It depends a lot of drag, so in Lemans you gain very little because of low downforce configurations, but of course, always should gain some km/h behind another car if you are with a setup that allow it, you could touch ground or an excessive drag
That would be a nice experiment for my channel. I would start a few analyzes in Motec. Damper travel, Engine RPM and the other usual suspects. Then you would have figures and values on which to base yourself.
Thanks! It will be nice if developers publish some feature list or at least be more communicative with the community. When I have some doubts about ACC I can always ask Aris on chat. When comes to rF2 we usually have to experiment on our own.

Not a very scientific test. You exited the pits under red, and were therefore running away from the authorities. This gains kph. I know this from NFS: Hot Pursuit. In all seriousness though, this incongruity between different people's experience/tests is puzzling and frustrating. I asked above about exact results because I knew of people already testing this and finding some (small) slipstream effect, but then @Liuke44 shows an experiment with no apparent change.
Best way is test for your own, so I did it. Ferrari GTE on Monza. - Without slipstream 270Km/h -With slipstream 273km/h I could get 274 with slipstream but you need to brake earlier Please close this thread
