Hello, can somebody tell me how i can have proper "new line" in the description of my workshop items when we download a package in game ? I just set description in multiple lines normally but here a no "new line" showed ... everything is in one line. Description in the vdf file : Code: A B C Is shown : Code: A B C Anyone know how to set it properly ? Use \n ? BBCode ? Thanks.
I don't have this problem. Have you tried just editing the text after you have uploaded it with 'Edit title & description'?
Thanks, i tried and it's OK in the Steam website but not "in game" when downloading the item. At first upload the text was ok on mutli line in Steam webiste but not in game when downloading. Probably some weirdness on UTF-8 or ISO-3001 text files ... imo. I even tried CR+LF instead of LF only end of lines and still the same, no new line in game downloading ...
Ok, but for example the Alpine A480 LMH has a nice and beautiful multi line description with images and paragraphs, etc. How did they do that ... I will try to ask the creator. It looks like some BBCode like in forums.
https://steamcommunity.com/comment/Guide/formattinghelp For pictures you will need to sign up to a 3rd party picture website for example https://imgbb.com/
When your Mod is uploaded and i remember it right, there is an Option to edit the Description. Did you try it there, with using BB Code (check the Link that @DJCruicky linked above)?
Steam description before validating : Code: [h1][b]BMW M4 GT3[/b] skin created by Taytous[/h1] [i]Full repack of 1.03 version with this skin.[/i] ( https://www.youtube.com/@antotitus ) Result in Steam : In Game : BBCode works on Steam but not in rFactor 2 ... BBCode remains unmodified ... And everything is one line ... awful.
@DanRZ Probably in rFactor 2, html Code <br> would work. So you can not have both looking good formatted.
There is an example, check the Alpine A480 LMH, they both look good. They have proper new lines, bold parts, images, lists and everything is the same when downloading in game ... I tried the <br> and it doesn't work. The Steam Website Steam shows <br> too ... I asked a user who is linked to the Alpine A480 LMH : @Nick9320 ... hoping he will respond. Everything is painful with rF2 or is it only me ?
Not Everything. BTW Did you also try the BB Code with capital Letters, like [ B ] instead of [ b ] for Example? (The Spaces in the Tags are only made to be able to show them up here).
At some point i had a beautiful page ... Looks like it's broken ... I never tried again this page recently. So it's a big o i had a dream on a real web page well formatted. Thanks to have check.
