Hello i'm trying to update the Ferrari F488 GTE with a skin. I have made a rfcmp on version 3.11CXX to upgrade the 3.11, which works well on my PC even via Steam Workshop. But i can't install it on my server. I have a weird phenomenon. I got the 3.11 that says that it have an update, in the list i see the 3.10 and the 3.11CXX. When i click on upgrade it gets back to 3.10 ... What am i doing wrong ? I have followed the helps from redapg and my rfcmp works really well on my client, so it is good. Please, help me ... That is making me crazy ... Thanks.
@DanRZ When you install your 3.11CXX Update, do you have the Subfolder 3.11CXX in the Folder ..\rFactor 2\Installed\Vehicles\Ferrari_488_GTE_2020 afterwards?
No i never get the subfolder. But on my client via steam, it is there with the same rfcmp and works perfectly in single mod. I noticed it tries to get back to 3.10 instead of 3.11CXX. I get 3.11 (1) subfolders ... or 3.10 (1) ... I also have a weird thing on the Vanwall which i try to do the same. I get the "Update" without any update available ... when i click it makes an update quickly doing nothing. I removed the 3.11CXX rfcmp from Packages and have this behaviour.
According to the guide you should be updating from the even number (3.10) https://docs.studio-397.com/users-guide/custom-liveries-how-to-make-an-update-rfcmp-for-league-use But that's literally all I know.
Can you upload your Ferrari Update rfcmp with your Skin here (put in in a zip File), that i can check it?
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2889502686 If you try it, you will have to remove it after quickly, because 3.11 is no more available.
There have been Changes in the Games Code, that allow to update either the Base Version with the encrypted Mas Files or the Update Version with the Teams (not encrypted) from DLC Content now. But i haven't tested which works best on a Dedicated Server yet.
What do you mean with "because 3.11 is no more available"? Don't you have the Subfolder 3.11 anymore? If not and you did update to 3.11, it can not work.
At first i only added the .mas with the new skin. Then i tried car_upgrade.mas from 3.10 and the skin. Both seem to not work. I just tried upgrading from 3.10 and it didn't work too ...
OK, let's start from 0. Which Subfolders do you have in the Folder ..\Installed\Vehicles\Ferrari_488_GTE_2020?
Yes, perfectly. And i managed to create a 3.22 that work perfectly too but never on server. 3.10 and 3.11 are the offical ones.
Please do this: - unsubscribe from your Mod in the Workshop - remove all Subfolders, except of 3.10 and 3.11 - take only the Files for your Car with the new Skin (veh, dds, Icons....) , put them into a mas File and create an Update rfcmp with that (give it the Version 3.22 again and make it as an Update of 3.11 - Install it - Check if you have the Subfolders 3.10, 3.11 and 3.22 now and all original Cars and also your Car can be selected in the Menu and work properly.
OK, if you did make it and everything works properly, try out if you, when you create the Server rfmod, can select the 3.11 and also the 3.22 in the Car Selection Tab. If yes, create the rfmod and try if that works on the Dedicated Server. If it doesn't work, report here again. Good Luck! EDIT I would recommend to not use the Steam Workshop for such Updates. The Reason is, that, if you unsubscribe from it, your Update and also the base Mod for your Update gets uninstalled (if nothing has changed) and so the original Content doesn't work anymore. Offer such Things here in the Forum, for manually Installation and tell the People, to delete the Subfolder of the Update manually too, if they don't want to have it anymore.
